Yellow: The History of a Color

Exquisite
This book contains far more involved history and depth than I would have imagined. Seeing it on my table makes me happy EVERY day.

Two valid (and contrasting) perspectives
Very dense in details, which I love; has noteworthy information in seemingly every page. Fun to talk about points of interest with friends. My aunt, in contrast, took this for light bedtime reading and complained that she had to look up so many words or reread passages.

The brilliant history of a congroversial and unliked color
I love all of Michel Pastoureau's books on colors. I look forward to when he writes his next book on either purple, orange, gray, or pink.

Just a thought !
It wasn't what I expected ! I guess I was looking for a more in depth use of the color yellow as it relates to the individual artist ! "Yellow" seems to formulated a commonality of use across generations of artist ! I'm not convinced of that !

Boring
An overstated book. It is more of a coffee table book, pretty pictures and comments but of no substance as regards the quality or interaction of colors presented. Kind of misleading as it purports to be a work on color and color theory but is not. Thanks for asking.

Superbly
I have done a lot of research on colour and bought numerous books but the ones by this friend professor are by far the best.
