Five Stars All Around
Five stars for story, acting, cultural appropriateness, message of "the greater good of humanity" and faith in good spirits over selfishness and power. THis is a beautiful story and beautifully animated. This culture is over 10,000 years old and continues the traditions of today or 8,000 years before the Bible was written. It is all about community, family and morals. It also emphasizes a strong feminist role, and me as being thoughtful and sensitive family members and members of Native clans. These clans were communities who shared everything and continue to share to this day where community, family , tradition and honoring elders is very important. Thank you for a beautiful film. I am sorry the people who gave this animation low ratings completely missed the point that community is more important than the trump style of "its all me, me me".

The only things I wish had been different were -That there was more of a backstorySlightly better animationMore DialogueHonestly, it just seems like they need a bigger budget maybe ? Much like Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna), an Iñupiaq tale
Anyone's who played Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) or read Dan Simmons' The Terror will recognize the major players of this tale. Sedna, the Tuunbaq, and the fierce determination and humility of the northern peoples all make an appearance. While not as dark or nearly as grisly as other Inuit and Iñupiaq folktalks I've heard, it has heart and story. I'd recommended it for anyone who enjoys lighter-hearted mythology or may want to learn more.

Unnecessary gun violence
A character chasing others with a rifle in an attempt to commit murder is just not appropriate in a children's film. That the movie did not even address this character's attempted murder of his friends using a rifle was bizarre (yes, we all know it was the amulet causing the character to behave in this manner). Other aspects of this movie were fine but that scene was beyond unnecessary. A movie about good versus evil does not need gun violence. And the final scene was such a dreadful and uninspiring ending. Perhaps the film makers could have taught forgiveness or acceptance but instead, they suggested the characters cook the crow. There were quite a few missed opportunities to impart important life lessons on kids.

Meh
I couldn't get past the twenty minute mark. I tried twice. The story to that point was flat and uninspired. The animation was not up to what one expects today. Altogether a waste of time, IMO.

Legend...no, more like okay fireside story...of Sarila
A creative idea that was lost in a story that didn't really seem to know where it was going, with a bad guy that wasn't really believable. Mix that with television show quality animation (which means it's not bad, but it's not up to the level or budget as most animated films these days), and a mildly amusing and interesting story...and you aren't really too inspired to recommend the movie. We thought we were going to be seeing a great Native American mythological story turned into animation, and if that had been the case, I would have been happy to have accepted the lower budget animation or whatever...but it's not. The best clips are in the preview, and the rest is enough to keep little ones happy for about 30 minutes, maybe an hour.Overall, if it came on television, there is worse stuff out there, but I wouldn't watch it again.

Super movie, for all ages.
Excellent movie! Everything was great: the story, the animation, the acting. It was really interesting to see what life is maybe like for some Inuit people, too. I would recommend it for everyone -- kids and adults alike. And it's not too scary for young 'uns.
