Shop Tuff MR-01 Mighty Rod Bender

I was very skeptical buying this due to the price. I bought it to make square hooks out of 3/8” steel rod. The thing worked great. I bent 34 hooks in a couple hours. I did have to use a cheater bar with 3/8” rod. The supplied handle works perfect with anything in a smaller diameter. Worth every penny.

Works good on 3/16 and 1/4 in rod will bend 5/16 good with a little more effort. I just made the handle longer and it was no problem same with 3/8

I've used this one recently to bend Ti rod for shepard hook tent stakes and it does a great job of it!

I really like this! It actually didn't work for my application, but that was my fault. However, it's really simple to use. I dropped it into my bench vise and was bending rods right away. I needed something else to make sharp 90 degree bends, but for a tight radius, this thing will bend all day. I will be getting more than my money's worth out of this and very glad I purchased it.

I love this little kit. I use it for bending 1/4" aluminum rod for RC projects. It works great for me. You need to be sure you mount it in a sturdy vise though to keep it from moving. Also, there is a small learning curve getting your bends precise, but once you get it, it will give you wonderful results. The added spacers let you make different sized bends and its perfect.

I bought this to bend some 1/4 stainless rod. The product description said it handles up to 3/8 solid materials. It wouldn't bend the 1/4 rod so I added a short cheater bar and then the fixed pin the tool uses to bend the material broke, luckily it didn't injure me when it went flying. I had tested it on some softer, thinner rod (6mm) and it seemed OK.

I make a bird toy using a thin Stainless Steel rod. I need to bend the rod to a desired shape (like a conventional U-bolt). I was stumped until I found this tool. The tool must be mounted in a vise or on an unmovable table top which is nothing major, but I find rather annoying. The bend is controlled by the size of a disc mounted on one of the two posts of the tool. The written instructions were not particularly helpful in using the tool, but trial and error have enabled me to make the bends I need. The problem of fragility of the posts mentioned in other reviews has not, yet, affected my use of the tool, but when I change discs needed to produce different size bends, I encounter difficulty suggestive of the post having bent a tiny bit - surely this will eventually come to no good.

great little tubing bender. I use it in my vise to bend tubes and rode for rc cars. only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is it could use a bigger platform to balance longer rod on when doing multi bends. other than that can't beat the price
