Bike helmet
A great product. This is my second helmet for myself, and I bought one apiece for both of my sons. A very reliable and awesome product.

Runs Small, and different design.
Concerning fit. Wife got a Bern Watts in medium, and it fit me great with adjustment open. I tested a Bern Macon in Medium and it fit right. So after ordering this Allston in Medium, it was a little too tight. Returned for a Large, and with 30% on the adjuster, it fits great. This may work out as a plus since I now have room for a balaclava for cold rides. It is strange that it labels that the visor can be removed, but it is integrated into the rim padding/adjustable band. Helmet does not include a non visor band. Must be an add on option. I got a chance to test fit a MIPs version of this Allston, and it runs even smaller. The weight of the helmet is also lighter than the Watts, since I realize not that it is totally different design. The Watts is a hard outer shell with separate padding, like a motorcycle helmet. The Allston is like a traditional bike helmet. Single piece molded. Both are very hard surface, with no flex. They both feel well made.

Great protection/ Solid buy
I got into road biking this year, there's a couple of spots on some paved trails near my home where I get ~33MPH downhill. If you've ever seen vids of hard bike crashes the first thing that happens with the standard bike helmet is that it either flops around and doesn't do it's job or takes on impact and again ur on ur own at that point. This helmet offers more protection all around, yes it's heavier which i hate BUT the inverted bill directs air down cooling my face, the padding is amazing, and it has room to attach accessories. I like the fact that I wear a helmet that looks different than most and take comfort in the protection. I will say the other area for improvement in my opinion after ~75mi wearing it is the chinstrap cuts in a little too much into my throat (which isn't adjustable in that direction) and after a while the straps tend to loosen. Overall solid buy and QUALITY!

Runs a little small. Can’t use helmet with the visor removed.
Overall, I really like the fit and finish of the helmet. Nice and light, tons of venting. The thing that keeps this from 5 stars for me is the fact that there is advertising on the helmet that says “Removable flip visor” which is true, but the visor is sewn into the headband adjustment system, so you remove both and the helmet is unusable without it. The implication is that the visor is removable alone, when that simply isn’t the case.I’m always a large bike helmet and on adjustable helmets I often adjust right near the middle of the available adjustability. With this helmet, I can put it on all the way loose and it fits comfortably snug. Definitely runs a little small.

Style ansd Saftey
A helmet is a must whenever I ride a bike, especially on the roads. I was looking for something that would protect my noggin, and something that looks stylish. I looked around at a couple different helmets and ended up falling for this one. Not only is the design great, the visor really serves a purpose. It's light, but feels safe, It's a helmet, but with a cool design. I would recommend this helmet. It won't break the bank.

More protection
This helmet is very well padded. It has a band of plush padding that goes completely around your head.I ride a road bike so I use the visor in the up position for better road vision. The visor is connected to the padding and seems to wick the sweat up away from my eyes. A bonus in the Texas summer temperatures.

Good, but could be SO much better.
I was really excited to get this bike helmet. It didn't look quite as dorky as most, although it's still not great, but I understand that's how they have to be to protect your head. I think it's s really good design, but there are three things that bother me about it when I finally got it. First, the sewn on Bern tag on the brim. It didn't show that in any pictures I saw, as they only showed one side. It looks very tacky, and I shouldn't have to cut it off and risk messing up the brim. The Bern logo on the helmet itself would have been plenty of branding. Second, it has a sticker on the brim that told you it's flippable, and when you peel it off it left a horrible residue. I'm a little scared to use residue remove since the brim is cloth covered. When I asked the seller how to remove it, they said maybe it'll wear off over time. Ummmmm....OK. And third, the clasp for the chin strap is unusually hard to unlatch. Maybe it'll get better over time, but it should just be right. A helmet clasp should pretty well be perfected by now. I got this on sale at half price for $50, and I would hate to have paid more considering the little issues with it. It's good, but the fixing of the little things would have made it so much better.
