Studio One Classics

This Soul Jazz series of classic Studio One double albums is just superb. The vinyl while not audiophile calibre, ( these are Jamaican 45s! )it is really quite quiet and punches with dynamics. If you play vinyl you need one of these compilations to lively up your self-So glad Soul Jazz stepped and fed the vinyl heads among us! There are at least 10 compilations, vinyl Double albums in pretty good single sleeves, and so far the 5-6 I have purchased have been excellent. Great lable great issue. Now if we could get Soul Jazz to flesh out liner notes on individual artists like Bear Family or Ace...all would be right with the world. A good place to start might be Studio One Soul Vol.1., and vol 2 - classic soul changed up with the beat we love! Great stuff! Only a few of these compilations have single sheet liner notes inside the sleeve, my only complaint is some decent liner notes or gatefold cover art would have made this series perfect , but you don't get it all.

This is a jammin' collection of reggae tunes. If you are a fan of the old Studio 1 recordings from the 60s-80s, you should pick this record up. Also I've seen it being sold for much much more in record shops than you can get it on Amazon.

Another totally top notch collection from Soul Jazz. Even if you're not a compilation person, you'll not find higher quality production anywhere, and this music is all about the singles anyhow.

Bought it for a hard to find track. Loved it. Highly recommended if you are a reggae music collector or lover of reggae music.

The LP is fabulous. The shipping was horrible. They just threw the lp in an envelope with no cardboard or anything else to protect the album. Amazingly the LP is fine the cover is trashed, bent and separated.

totally disagree with your reply. just send a fragile item in suitable packaging.this wasnt.recieved another album yesterday in the normal cardboard strengtheners, inside a large box.well protected but a bit over the top.

A mio parere una delle migliori compilation della Soul Jazz Records. Si va dallo ska strumentale degli Skatalites e di Don Drummond al rocksteady di Alton Ellis, passando per il reggae dei Wailers e di Burning Spear e all'era dei toaster con Prince Jazzbo. C'è veramente di tutto e ogni canzone è una gemma nel suo genere.

Super album, j’enlève 2 étoiles car le cover n’est pas double (alors qu’il y a 2 disques) et les titres ne sont pas détaillés... ça sent un peut la réédition low cost. Je me trompe peut-être mais j’ai d’autre compil soûl jazz mieux présentées.
