I DID IT!!!!
I don't know how to sew, I'm not "artsy-craftsy", and nobody's ever accused me of being handy. I was reluctant to try replacing the button that shouldn't have come off of my brand-new, rather pricy jeans in their first wash - things I try to fix generally become casualties of my impatience and/or clumsiness. If I could have returned the jeans, or if the tiny town I live in had a tailor, I never would have tried these buttons - but I'm so glad I did!The instructions allow for the fact that many of of us are not good with hammers, and recommend first enlarging the hole where the screw goes using a nail (included!). I don't even own a hammer, so I used a similarly-shaped-type-thingy I found in the garage (mallet? maul?). I was just careful to hold the nail, then the screw, straight, and to tap gently until it was on course.I am so impressed with the results. The button looks like it belongs, it's the perfect fit for the button hole, and it's still on my jeans after they've been worn and washed many times. If an obvious non-expert (okay, klutz) like me can do it, I bet anyone can - highly recommend.

Perfect for replacing the top button on jeans.
Exactly what I needed to replace the top button on my jeans.I was moved to write the review by the quality of the instructions. Sounds odd, but the care that went into them gave me a good feeling about the craftsmanship. If everyone wrote instructions with the care and insight this seller uses, the world would be a better place.

Works perfect, follow directions!
Don’t listen to the reviews that say this product is not good or back button clasp bends. This product is perfect and works just as it’s supposed WHEN YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!For example I used these to replace a button on a pair of jeans. Either sew up old button hole first or make a small new hole. Then take the include nail in the buttons and gently tap into back part of new button (loosen her up a tad) then line up included button tool over new buttons, tap with a hammer and you are set. It’s really simple and takes less than 2 minutes. Works great!

Need to be careful trying to hammer it! Use vice grips instead!
It arrived ahead of schedule. It isn't the product's fault that people are having trouble. It is very, very difficult to do. What I recommend is just tapping it in to get it to set. Then use vice grips to squeeze it in place. I ruined three trying to just hammer it in. Once I tried just tapping it, then using vice grips, it worked like a charm! I also moved it over a bit and used a part of the jeans that didn't have a hole. Since I obviously popped the last one because I gained some weight, I moved it over to make the jeans a bit bigger. Time to go on a diet!

A little hard to put on
The process to put on seemed easy upon reading the instructions, but I bent the first back piece I tried to use. That part of the button must be aluminum as it was extremely easy to bend. So after scrapping the first back piece, I attempted the second and got it to work better. Relatively inexpensive way to fix my jeans. I just hope this button lasts!

Don't waste your money
These are awful. I was unable to get any of the 6 to work properly. They include directions that say if you can't get the two pieces together properly you should learn how to use a hammer. So in response to complaints about their product they blame user stupidity. The problem is the metal used for the backing piece is way too soft and easily bends when you try to hammer it into the front piece.

Easy to use!
I needed a couple replacement buttons for my jeans and these worked perfectly. The red tool that comes with it makes it simple to install -- and a hard whack of the hammer really locks it down. I also hand stitched around the inside cap to tighten the hole and make it even more secure in the pocket. Took 5 minutes.

My Crack is Safe
I've got some denim shorts that I love, but blew the buttons a long time ago. I've still worn them with just the zipper up, but they've been hanging pretty low. I look gangsta, but I really needed to keep my pants up. I followed the directions, especially using a nail to get the process started, then a couple bangs with the hammer...job done right. Pretty sure a woman could do it with proper supervision. Highly recommend.
