One of the best things I've done to my 'Stang!
These went into a 2004 Mustang Base Deluxe.Easy install, except for one issue. The bolts for the fender weren't long enough to hold the mounts in. I went to a local shop and picked up a couple new ones, took one out to compare in store. I want to say they were #6, but not positive on that. After that, I think it took me all of 20 minutes to finish the job, that included painting the new bolt heads black after install (the ones a bought were gold).Do one side at a time, probably best to start on the drivers. DO NOT remove the bottom bolt on the hood, the new mounts slide right in when it's loosened. The instructions are good, but if you're used to doing any car work, looking at the pieces should be pretty self-explanatory too. No drilling needed at. I didn't use the rivets included in this kit, I think they're for another model than mine, or just an option. You only need a ratchet & socket (sorry, I don't recall the proper size) and rubbing alcohol (to clean for the double sided tape, red pieces in product image). I chose to leave the pole in, "just is case". These are after all gas struts, and we've all had those on our trucks that eventually stop working, things wear out :/ But it can be safely removed too, but I'd hold on to it. I may still remove it, now that I'm fully confident in the struts.I open the hood roughly 6-8 inches and it opens itself the rest of the way. I pull it closed about half way, gravity does the rest. These are sturdy and reliable, look great and most importantly, out of the way! I think the only thing I wish was different is the struts should be pure black (or available in factory colors), no writing/labeling. But the main use is functionality... and for that, they get the 5 stars!I put an CAI, new spark plugs & cables in a couple weeks later, I can't imagine doing that with the pole in the way. Every single time I open my hood, I realize this was among the best things I got for this car! Well worth the money! I added pics, I lightened the inside angle one so you could see it clearer.

1994-2004 Roush Mustang Heavy Duty Gas Charged Hood Struts Prop Lift Kit -...
This is an excellent way to remove and replace that annoying prop rod. The installation was pretty straight forward and once installed there were no adjustments that had to be made. That was my biggest concern when I bought these struts. Just follow the simple instructions. They do give you a pair of rivets for added strength but I found It unnecessary to use them. If you want to use them , you will have to drill into your hood. There is a part of the instructions that is specific to a model year range so be aware. The finished product is excellent. My hood now raises and lowers effortlessly. A great addition to my Mustang GT convertible.P.S. The "Roush" cutout on the hood braces are a nice touch.
