Great spice with great flavor and saves money since I cook with it a lot

Don't spring for this junk cardamom. The ad for this powder bragged about its aromatic quality, called the large container "chefs' jar", etc. I know cardamom. I used to do agricultural experiments on it in Guatemala. This powder is suspiciously dark and relatively tasteless.It's not as bad as the previous, fortunately smaller purchase, but nothing like good quality cardamom. It tastes like they took most of the oil out and sold what remained. Cardamom oil is expensive. It brings in good revenue for the plantations. It's used as a base in some medicinal formulas and many cosmetic products.This stuff tastes like they took most of the aromatic, deliciously fragrant oil out. The result is a powder that is way too dry, with almost none of the normal, delicious fragrance. Legitimate, whole cardamom powder is oily and powerfully fragrant. It doesn't take much to impart a lot of flavor.This one is not quite sawdust like the Naturevibe Botanicals Organic Cardamom. But it's not nearly as good as Simply Organic Cardamom, for example. Not even close! You can buy the Simply Organic here on Amazon, too. I used to buy that every time, but was suckered by the low price and nice but deceptive words.Simply Organic's product comes in small, 2.82-ounce bottles, but at least it actually tastes like ground cardamom (shocking, huh?). It's more expensive, but don't buy the alternative...that is, unless you prefer paying quite a bit less for something much closer to sawdust than real cardamom with the aromatic oils left in it.

I bake a lot of cardamom baked goods for Christmas presents and local groceries no longer carried the larger 8 oz containers I usually get soooo found this on Amazon and am very happy with it. I keep the unused portion tightly sealed in the freezer, lasts longer that way.

Great product and quick delivery

I fell like an absolute fool for purchasing this product. I thought the fact that it was "organic" would ensure a higher quality cardamom but it is absolutely the opposite. The second I saw the color of the cardamom, I should have known what to expect. And once I unsealed the package and DID NOT SMELL THE AROMA OF CARDAMOM WHATSOEVER, I knew I had been duped. Other one-star reviewers were accurate in saying there is little to no flavor and absolutely ZERO aroma. I typically buy ground cardamom in bulk from a local co-op and was trying to save time by ordering but that was clearly a mistake. After using the co-op cardamom for so long, it is now obvious to me how superior the quality of the cardamom they carry is to this garbage. And I don't use that term lightly. This product is utter garbage. Complete waste of money. Over $40 for tasteless, useless garbage. And OF COURSE, it is nonrefundable. Total grift. Total racket. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!
