These have been increasingly hard to find. Super wire skinning knife.
I know this is sold as a roofing or carpet knife but, let me tell you what it's the best at. Skinning insulation from wire is what it does best. I've been a lineman for 28 years and this knife does an excellent job at removing insulation from all kinds of wire. It's edge is sharpened on both sides so it works great no matter how you hold it. Other similar knifes that are sold for flooring are only sharp on one edge that would cause the knife to not strip equally as either when held in either position. So you don't have to worry about that. Morakniv is a super knife manufacturer and the metal in this blade is high carbon and comes very sharp from the factory. I just bought my second one recently and the actual model number is 175P and P is for Plastic handle. They also have this in a wood handle model which is just a 175. I could not find this knife on Amazon by looking for 175P and just looked for Morakniv roofing knife. I have scoured the internet and you just can't find these knives so I am afraid that Morakniv has stopped making them. My first one came from Amazon for around $15 on sale and I just bought it on a whim that it might be a good wire skinning knife. So if you are lineman and want a super knife for tackling tough insulation then don't hesitate to give this knife a try. The blade is pretty rigid and doesn't flex easily even though it's not as thick as most skinning knives.

safety
it’s a hook knife .. better for carpet cutters than skinning wire.

As usual mora is of excellent quality for the price
This knife meets your expectations for aMorakniv but I can’t believe the sheath they are using for it. Dangerous cheap and I am just shaking my head at the choice. No functionality and just dangerous. Just shaking my head.
