Magic: The Gathering Spellslinger Starter Kit

Me and my partner have wanted to get into this game for a long time and during quarantine, we decided what better time to try it than now?This seems like a great starter set and it comes with instructions and a rule set to help you understand the game.The only thing I will say is that I wish the instructions for the first game as well as the rules, were a little clearer to understand. I think that is just down to me though, as I have never played a game like this and so I have a lot to learn.All in all it’s good value for money and a great way to begin to learn the game, with your own starter deck.

I purchased this as a gift for my Husband, who wanted us to play Magic together. The set is well laid out and explains the rules of the game in a brief, simple way which gets you playing immediately (although more in-depth rules are included).This set includes two base decks which must not be shuffled in order to follow the gameplay tutorial (this covers the first few turns but then you are left to play as you like).

Lots of cards and guides to start. Great for beginners! My only complaint would be that the code can no longer be redeemed. If it could be, definitely 5 stars!

After more than 20 years I back to play to Magic. This starter kit it is great to new guys learn all the mechanism of the game. This kit gives us a lot of diversion hours for me and my friends. Great quality and price.

This Pack started it all and i have now delved deep into this addiction of getting more cards to play my friends :3I totally did not buy like 1000 cards or nothing after this...The pack is very easy to understand and teach you how to play the basic stuff so if u want to start learning how to play this is the pack for you just be ready for the spiral into addiction :3

A very basic set of cards, not designed for anyone who already plays but for kids or people who have never played before this is great. The step by step tutorial makes it really simple to pick up the basic rules and mechanics.

Perfect for the very first game of magic with my wife who hasn't a clue about this sort of game, looks like good cards inside and very easy to play

Two hit die counters and two decent decks, perfect for modifying (although they are designed to be played well on their own). Also, there is a code to unlock each deck on MTG:Arena included - Nice!

Good for starters or if you want the guys in deck

I started playing Magic WAY back, around Beta timeframe. Then I sold all my cards because I was a teenager and too cool for stuff like that anymore. I've been kicking myself for that for the better part of 20 years now. Just before we all started staying at home, I had a friend invite me to a game night he's a part of, and I realized how much I really enjoy this game. I picked up this + a deckbuilder's kit as a way to kick-off my collection again.The decks this product gives are solid introduction decks. There's a couple shiny foils to make you feel fancy, a couple great utility cards that will end up in future decks, and are overall well balanced, well constructed decks. The learn-to-play guides are especially great as part of this: they're not going to make you a master-level player in 6 pages, but there's turn-by-turn directions for the first few turns on each side, so two people can learn to play together. You can literally have two people who have never played Magic before sit down at a table, open this pack, and play a full game with no outside help.If you've been playing for a while and already have a collection going, this isn't going to blow you away. It's not a bad pickup, especially if you're trying to jumpstart an angels deck. If you know how to play and construct decks however, you can build a much stronger deck for about the same cost as these two will run you. These are specifically made for new players, and they fill that role really well.For the decks themselves, the white deck is angels/flyers, and the red is dragons/burn spells. I find the white deck to generally be stronger, or at least much more consistent than the red, but they're more or less evenly matched, especially with two new players piloting them. I've upgraded the white deck with a few cards I've picked up recently, and it's become one of the stronger decks I own.Overall, if you're looking to start (or restart) playing Magic, this is a really fantastic way to jump in and learn!
