Gerber Gear Paraframe EDC Folding Pocket Knife with Safety Lock for Everyday Carry, Gifts for Men

I actually bought two of these a year apart just to have when wearing light shorts around the house and doing yard work. I carry a larger Spyderco for EDC but wanted something small and lightweight for around the house for typical household stuff. These knives are very lightweight, very sharp, and maintain an edge very well. Not going to skin a deer with it but it's perfect for my intended purpose and disappears in my pocket. The pocket clip is also very strong and sturdy. Great value for the price if you want a small and lightweight yet sturdy blade for basic tasks.

Love this knife. Small frame and light weight. But it’s up to the task. Hardly noticeable in pocket, but keeps a edge for a lot of use. I have a tough time retaining ownership, of said knife so usually buy 2 at a time so I always have one on hand.

The Gerber Mini Tanto is a great EDC knife — small, discreet, and easy to carry. I use them almost like disposables since they’re inexpensive and easy to replace if lost or broken. For the price, it’s hard to beat the convenience and practicality.

Quality knife. Has lugs on both sides of the blade. A little snug when opening or closing but I assume that will get better over time. I expected the knife to be much sharper than it was. Has a utility sharpness that should hold the edge better for longer. Overall, I am happy with it.

Solid build, all screws were snug. Pocket clip held snugly but not too tight. Sharp and serviceable with good ergonomics. Stiff deploy speaks to snug blad with no wobble. A bit of oil made deployment easier. Closed with some stiffness but by paying close attention to closure cutout blade closed easily. Highly recommended, a great buy.

Looks like a well built knife. Smaller than I expected. Looked to be sharp. Gerber always makes good knives. This was just smaller than want I needed. Was returned.

This knife is tiny, even by EDC standards. Still, I'm surprised how useful it's been. It takes and holds a really good edge. And puches way above it's class. I almost sent it back due to its size. I'm glad I didn't. It makes the regular rotation and holds its own with my bigger EDCs.

It is just okay.Pros:It is relatively inexpensive at $23 (the price as of the date of this review).It is light.It looks cool.The frame lock is secure.Cons:Don't trust any knife if the product information does not contain the specific type of steel it is made with.The blade is not especially sharp.The skeletal handle is a poor choice in combination with the frame lock;it contributes to the wobble.I sharpened the knife, but it did not stay sharp for very long cutting boxes.There is a fair bit of wobble. I would not use this for heavy duty tasks.The opening action can be a bit stiff; there are some occasions where I struggle to open it with one hand.Overall, my feeling is that I wish that I had spent just slightly more money to get a better quality knife. If you want affordable, every day carry, I recommend getting a knife whose blade is made from D2, Nitro-V, or Sandvik 14c28n; those are all good "budget" steels that will outperform this for only slightly more money. If you want easy opening, look for a model that has a bearing; this increases the cost a bit also.For example, for $35-ish you can get a Civivi Mini Praxis. It has the same blade length, a strong liner lock, a ceramic bearing, a good quality synthetic grip (G10), and a much better blade. It is not as flashy as the Paraframe, but it flips so much better; that will attract attention, if that is what you want. On the other hand, if you want practical, you can get a more covert color scheme.
