Perfect for the nightstand. I am using ceiling fan bulbs, although regular bulbs do fit. I like the pull strings. Makes it easier for me to use. They look classy and beautiful. Very pleased with my purchase.

Do not know what all the negative complaints are for, the only thing I don't like is most of these lights do not have real glass tops and this one does not. Looks like glass, feels somewhat like glass but it isn't. Love how securely it was packed, and it's a very pretty addition to our home. It's not expensive so for the price and quality you can't miss. Hey, they surely don't make things like they used to, do they? But this passes in our household.

I cannot remember ever being more delighted with an Amazon purchase, which we might as well all admit, is sometimes a "pig in a poke" situation. I was replacing a faithful table lamp I paid $3.50 for, at a yard sale, more than ten years ago. I think I got my money's worth on that one. But I didn't want some cheap lamp. And this one is NOT cheap. For one thing, it is beautiful. And it is SOLID. It is heavy. And it is sturdy. It gives out great light. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to put it all together, but there was nothing stupid about it, if you know what I mean. Once I figured out how the parts went together (which was my slowness, nothing else), I had the thing assembled and light bulbs installed in less than fifteen minutes. It is exactly the height and shade width I expected it to be. It will blend with a number of decors, in the 19th or 20th Centuries. I have a very 21st Century landline phone on the same table. I will replace the phone. And add some of my collector first edition books. Perhaps a vase of roses. I LOVE this lamp!!!!

Loved the quality and beauty of this lamp!

I bought two of these to go on bedside tables. Of the first two, one was so crooked after assembly I had to return it. It comes in 4 pieces. The base, shade, "S" Cluster and and finial/shade riser assembly . One lamp was OK, but I put the S cluster on the second and it sat a little crooked. I put the shade riser on, set on the shade and turned on the final and the shade was tilted probably 10°. Very noticeable. I sent it back and Lamps Plus was very accommodating and sent out a replacement once they received the return. Upon receiving the return I attempted to assemble it and found the shade riser was turned so tightly into the finial I had to turn it out with cloth wrapped pliers. Even with the cloth, I still marred the finish on the riser. So I got it assembled, found the it was at least straight but when I got it into the room and put bulbs in it, I found one of the sockets was practically unusable. The pull chain pulls so hard it gets stuck and won't retract into the socket unless you fiddle with it. A lamp should look good AND function properly. In order to accomplish the latter, quality components MUST be used. The socket bases used in the S cluster of these lamps is WAY BELOW the price point in quality. For a $80-$120 lamp, the stupid pull chains should pull smooth like butter. Bottom line, be prepared to return if it's jacked up, or be prepared to install new bulb sockets.
