Good healthy oil, unflavoured, good in salads or sauces, but very good for frying, it is healthy, don't need much and don't change the taste at all

When looking into OLEIC sunflower oil I discovered a lot of positive reasons to use it. Oleic means very high in mono-unsaturated fats (that is fats that are actually good for us). I also discovered that there have been studies that have shown including a high level of mono-unsaturated fats in our diet can reduce the number of LDL bad cholesterol and increase the number of HDL good cholesterol - a great discovery given I was recently told by my GP that my cholesterol is high!I was still concerned about the price but when I also found out that this type of oil not only has a longer shelf life but also a longer cooking life - meaning you do not have to throw it out or change your oil as often as it doesn't break down anywhere as quickly as regular oil, not only making it safer to use but also saving on how regular you need to buy more.With all this is mind, I was excited to give it a try...What better way to jump in but to try deep fried fish and chips. I haven't done any deep fat frying for years and bought a deep fat frying pan, and even a digital food thermometer (so I could get the oil to the right 160° temperature) just I could get it right and my review wouldn't be based on poor cooking technique!The result. The batter on the fish was wonderfully crispy and although retained some oil upon removing from the pan when sat on kitchen roll and then plated did not look or taste greasy. The same was for the chips which left very little oil residue on the kitchen roll and were nicely crisp. Myself and my mum both agreed that our fish and chips was great as it reminded us of going to the chippy but wasn't greasy and had a fresh crisp flavour. The kitchen didn't stink of hot fat either!Conclusion. I never thought it would ever be possible to have a fry-up and for it to be good for you. Turns out I was wrong.Do your own research into OLEIC high mono-unsaturates and come back and buy this stuff!I'm planning on a second purchase so I have some for using in the wok and frying pan...

Great healthy way for cooking in sunflower oil with its added high oleic is a must have.

I had to look up exactly what the benefits of High Oleic sunflower oil were and apparently " High oleic oil is high in unsaturated fat, low in saturated fat, and has no trans fat. The large amount of monounsaturated fat in high oleic oil has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) without lowering HDL cholesterol (the good kind). When LDL cholesterol goes down, so do the risks of heart disease, heart attacks, and stroke." As someone who has been told to cut down on cholesterol (I didnt know there was good and bad kinds!) then this has to be worth a try.It is nice and smooth and tasteless so it does not spoil the food. No oily smell when cooking which is a bonus too.It isnt cheap but then good quality oil isnt. If you are looking for oil with these heath benefits then this is well worth a go.

I have purchased this brand and size a few times, and very happy with it, so will continue, anytime I need cooking oil.

By far the best Sunflower oil I've ever used & tasted! It's on the little bit expensive side but believe me when I say you WILL buy more bottles of it to cook with as it's very superior to all others you have ever used.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐s 👍🏼Lovely golden cristal clear Sunflower oil in colour that you can cook anything with. Good product but could taste it on food

Bought this oil to replace the normal veg oil I was using to deep fry. This is far better, leaves no after taste at all. I would recommend this product to anyone who is using a deep fat frier. My delivery got lost so Flavoil sent a replacement straight away. Cant fault that at all. When my original order turned up after 3 weeks in the couriers depot I contacted Flavoil to tell them it eventually turned up, they said "Please keep it and thanks for your order". Their "goal is simply to provide the professional chef and home kitchen user the very best quality oils and fats" . Well achieved, this home kitchen user will definitely be using Flavoil products again. Thank you
