CanDo Theraputty Plus Hand Exercise Putty for Rehabilitation, Exercises, Hand Therapy, Hand Strengthening, Stress Relief - Black 4 oz X-Firm

This brand used in my occupational therapy. I got pink, will work for now, and got green to use shortly. Fascinating fun, like kids play. Bury 10 to 15 small, key word small, objects in putty, then work with your hands to find each one, and remove it. Repeat. Small game pegs, buttons, beads. Works well to strengthen fingers, hands.

After considering which to choose, extra soft, for therapy after carpal tunnel surgery, I decided that this softness was good for my recovery. I'm glad I didn't get the next step up, soft, as it has just enough stiffness for the first therapy. It has a bit of greasiness upon opening, but I easily dabbed with a paper towel and it was fine. (It keeps it from hardening.) There is no smell. And the another main reason why this brand was chosen was the anti-microbial aspect. Having an incision on your hand, you want the putty to stay as "clean" and germ free as possible. The last reason....it's made in the USA!! So, if you need a theraputic putty, I would suggest this brand. I will be getting the next steps up as my recovery progresses!! Thanks!!

I am very familiar with this type of item because I am a Physical Therapist. I have never used this product before I bought it, but dealt in other brands.Pros:1. It provides innumerable ways to utilize it to exercise specific muscles and tendons.2. The resistance of strength of it is as advertised.3. Excellent tool to do a home program as prescribed by a professional.4. You can buy it in other strengths according to your needs.5. This can also be used instead of a ‘stress ball”, and you get the added benefit of gaining hand andforearm strength.Cons: 1. I feel that I should have received a larger amount of the product. An added amount would havegiven it 5 stars instead of 4.Overall the product itself is very good and if asked, I would recommend it to a patient if they needed to follow up with a home program, or if they needed to squeeze it at work as a stress ball! It is exactly as described which I appreciate because not all orders measure up to the description,

This was originally used to help my son as part of his coping. He found in therapy, it was nice to play with droopy putty and other times one that he can "break" with a quick tear (the black one). We got our own set to use at home. Colors are as shown. Easy to see the different levels of firmness which are a good for part for his play/frustrating times. He does not mix them. It's one at a time and put them away. It is not sticky on your hands, so that helps with the play as he will wrap it around his hand/up his arm sometimes. We've had them for about 6 months now and the are still as food now as they were on day 1- so a good value as well.

My hand PT told me to get this brand of putty for my home exercises. I had a joint replacement in my thumb a year ago. I purchased a set of 4 of theses from the easiest on up. Now I am on the black which is the X firm. I do the exercise everyday. I highly recommend this brand.
