There are several HR valves. Older one and a newer Low Profile one. That might be the difference. I think the color of the cap on the air valve tells which one you have. Many knockoffs too. Hope this helps

As to the tube fittings with the hose generally when you purchase the dinghy you received a bunch of fittings, one of these should be able to adapt in The valve fit.
