worked on my craftsman mower model 917.388980seemed to be very similar to the OEM cable. Easy to replace. Need a pliers to squeeze the tabs to remove the old cable from the lower bracket.Now works like new.I found an online video helpful for the install. Amazon would not allow me to link the video but not it is not difficult to find.

This cable matched my original one without any problems. Took less than 10 minutes to remove old cable and replace with the new cable.

there is an s-bend connector on each end of this, one fit perfectly, the second one had to be shaved down to fit. once I used my dremel to do that it works perfectly. I am guessing a casting error because it was a very small amount and the cable and housing are the proper length.

I bought cable from different seller for $4 less than this one, and it broke off at handle right away and had to replace; replacement broke. This cable differs in dimensions from the one that failed and was supposed to be perfect fit.This one worked, installed easily. Spend a little more and get the right fit.

The cable fit right into place on my mower and was the perfect replacement. Haven't had any issues so far this season and it seems to be doing better than the original one!

I have a Murray push mower from Walmart, with a Brigs Engine. and this part worked perfectly. just make sure to have some pliers when you're trying to install. it's not a super easy job.
