A well written and informative text book.
Excellent introduction to web programming. I am a programmer but new to HTML, CSS, JavaScript. I was delighted to find a text on the subject and have not been disappointed. The Navigator 2 Access Card is a welcome addition to the book. The quality of the paper is textbook-like, and the print is easy to read. There are plenty of code examples, including numerous complete projects. The Access Card enables downloading of most of the code for practice. Most similar books appear to have more limited code exercises. At half the price that is regularly charged, I highly recommend this book.

Do NOT buy the online version
The Kindle addition completely butchers this book, and makes it almost unreadable. I bought this thinking they had just imported the pages into a digital version, however the formatting, text, pictures, background are all different. These changes like I mentioned make the book a headache to read and I recommend everyone buy a physical copy of this book.

Well organized, easy to follow textbook
I have no background in web programming and found this textbook very easy to follow and understand. There are many well thought out coding examples and exercises in each chapter. Also, at the start of each chapter is a list of chapter objectives and an outline which is helpful.I noticed one of the other reviews, “Behind It’s Time”, inaccurately states that this textbook recommends styling with HTML. The book actually clearly recommends the use of CSS for styling (including for layout tables) and describes in great detail how to do that. The author of the textbook also commented on this miss-statement from the “Behind It’s Time” review in the comment section of that review and provided page-referenced CSS-styling examples from the book.I highly recommend this textbook for learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Behind It's Time
It is difficult to keep pace with changing technology but there is no excuse for a textbook published in 2018 to still teach inline HTML styling and tables. Styling in HTML has been a no-no for at least 10 years. Tables have been giving way to flexbox and grid for a few years now.

Awesome textbook for cultivating creativity and developing your web skills
I love how well this book is written and organized, from the chapter structure down to page layout. Dr. Dean’s writing is creative and engaging. Student resources are available online for accessing source code – a great time saver. And I appreciate how the exercises at the end of each chapter give hints as to which section is most relevant to the solution. In the world of textbooks, I find this one most refreshing.
