Real test usage is different from advertisement and box label.
After much research, I decided to try this product to see if it can keep my head cool for long enough (one to two hours per full usage) to prevent the onset of a headache or migraine while outdoors under the sun. The controlled test was initially indoors under room temperature with normal humidity (40% - 50%). I did not purchase this product to test if it will alleviate a symptom once there is an onset.I placed the ice pack in the freezer overnight to get maximum effect. After placing the ice pack into the housing and placing it on my head, the full cold effect lasted barely 45 minutes. I would say, a good usage is about 30 minutes. After that time frame, the effects diminish drastically. After about one hour, the pack completely was void of any cold effects. During the 45 minutes, the cold effect slowly diminished. In other words, the cold therapy temperature was not constant. After the first usage, I then placed the entire unit in the freezer (without removing the ice pack from the housing) for 30 minutes. I then wore the device on my head. The re-freezing without removing the ice pack from the housing did not allow the pack to get cold at all. The pack was at room temperature. I did this procedure (contrary to instructions) as a test just to see the effects.I removed the ice pack from the housing and placed the pack back into the freezer for 30 minutes (per instructions when re-freezing after usage). Afterwards, I placed the pack into the housing and placed the unit on my head. Again, sad to say, the unit barely registered any cold effects. Thirty minutes is not enough time to re-freeze the pack to be ready for full usage. You will need the full two hours, at minimum, to re-freeze before you can re-use the pack again. At this rate, I would need four additional spare ice packs on standby in an ice cooler ready for usage as I would have to be switching and replacing ice packs every 30 minutes if I were outdoors under moderate to high heat and humidity just to get up to two hours of continuous cold therapy effects! The biggest deficiency of this product is not the ice pack itself, but the housing. The interior is made of fleece. This fabric, although provides soft texture for the skin, prevents the maximum transference of the cold effect of the ice pack. If I were in the R&D or Quality Control of this product, I would change the interior fabric from fleece to a thin layer of cotton. That will enable the maximum transference effect of the ice pack while at the same time protecting the skin from the ice pack itself.Bottom line for me, as far as my intended goal - this product failed.

Versatile product use hot or cold
I really liked this headache cap because it can be used hot or cold. My daughter suffers from migraines, and she can use it cold to provide proven pain relief for her headache without exposing herself to mega-doses of caffeine. I myself suffer from tension headaches at the base of my skull and the back of my neck. I like to use this product warm, which relaxes my muscles and provides relief. You do need to take care with the ice pack. It is one continuous pack, so you need to lie it flat in the freezer or in the microwave to get even heat or cold in the cap. I still prefer the large pack over several small packs because I think the heat or cold dispersion is more even. There are detailed instructions both here in the description, and more come with the cap itself. It is easy to use, and the price is reasonable compared to other products similar to this one.

Works pretty well, but cools down pretty quickly
This helps the headache but only briefly. It cools off pretty fast after it’s on your head. It helps to try to wrap a heating pad around it or pack rice-filled microwave packs on it. I wish they made an electric version that would stay hot for a few hours. Still worth buying to have another tool to try when fighting a headache.

Multifunctional Well-Developed Product
For me, this product was perfect. The gel ice pack stays super cold for a good amount of time and it keeps its flexibility. It hits all my migraine points, such as temples, back of head and neck, as well as forehead. It felt bulky when I first put it on, but to me, the little bit of extra pressure helped because not only did the product stay in place, but it put the extra cold pressure on my migraine points. I also found it multifunctional because I pinched a nerve in my shoulder. The wider base made it easy to drape and the strap was able to go across my chest to hold it in place. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this product and really glad I finally decided to make the purchase!

It may look goofy...but it flat-out works!
First off - let's address the elephant in the room: yes, it is goofy-looking -- my son laughed at me when he saw me wearing it! :)But when I told him is it great for migraines, he asked to borrow it for his wife, as she is constantly suffering from them. She uses essential oils (peppermint) to help, but that seems to be hit-and-miss, so he was sure she'd be willing to give this a try. So he brought it home and surprised her with it when she had her next episode -- and I've now lost it permanently! :)She was amazed at how quickly the pain went away!! And she loves the fact that it can wrapped securely around her head, so she can continue to care for their one-year old. They included a good set of instructions (with pictures) of how to insert the gel pack and step-by-step on how to wrap it around your head...nice!

To infinity and beyond!
Worth the effort. It’s great to have this bad boy in the freezer at the ready when headaches arise. I actually think that the weight of it is kinda helpful too. It’s not distractingly heavy but offers a secure slightly compressive feeling. It’s a little awkward but does offer relief. If you get migraines you may want this in your arsenal. Also good for neck pain and knee pain or menstrual cramps. You could use it for various things. The cover on it is soft and pretty easy to get on and off. You’ll look like buzz light year in it but you won’t care. To infinity! And beyond!!!

useless
Once we received the product to a ridiculous price we tried it and put it straight back into the packaging. It does not even reach the important spots - only small cooling pads inside - too small to have an effect. I wish we had returned it straight away...

I bought this for my wife as she gets frequent migraines. She finds that this has helped reduce her migraines considerably and makes them more manageable.

Don't waste your money
Dont waste your time buying this. While the quality wasnt horrible and it did indeed wrap around my head and stay on--those were its only redeeming qualities. It is not worth the money, standard ice packs have worked much better for migraines than this--even after being frozen for more than 24 hours it didnt stay cold for more than 30 minutes. On top of that it is very difficult to get the ice pack in and out. Overall, quite disappointing.
