This does not work!
I bought this because I just put in a walking path around the house, and the downspout was letting water to the path which is too close to the house. The product says it is fit universal, but my spout is 3*4 and it does not fit. This was the problem number 1. I cut open the top part of the plastic and forced it up, but the zip tie came with the package was so weak it broke immediately. This was the problem number 2. I used tons of duck tape, etc. to wrap it tight to the spout. But today when it rain, I see that rollup part wasn't extending all the way. The water inside build up and spilling upwards from where the plastic is over the spout. This is the last problem before I cut it open and thrown it out, and put back the elbow. Such a waste of time and money. I do not recommend this to anyone.

Doesn’t work well for our purpose
The fastener provided did not hold the extender on when it rained, so had to reinstall using a zip tie. Also, it only rolls out to the extended length when it is raining HARD. If the rain is light, it rolls out only about 4-5 inches, and the water comes out the perforations along the length. That caused mildew to form under the plastic on our sidewalk. We had bought it to extend from the gutter, across the sidewalk, to the garden area. So for our purpose it did not work well.

strong rain - okay, medium to light rain - not okay
When there is a heavy rain, the tube unrolls okay and water comes out slowly. I added a couple of slices in the material to aid in water exiting. We haven't had a heavy rain yet to see if that helps with the water evacuation. When we have a light to medium rain, the tube doesn't unroll and water backs up in the down spout and either comes out the seams, or will eventually evaporate. Not ideal. Regardless, the hose did roll back up after the heavy rain, so there is that. I am considering removing them and using bricks or pavors to prevent washout.

Great Customer Service
First of all, I would like to commend Amazon for the quick response to my notification that the wrong product was shipped, the incorrect item was returned and the correct item showed up at my doorstep withing 48 hours. The downspout diffuser was easy to install and looks like it will work as advertised, I will find out when the weather man cooperates and sends us some rain.

Split seams and a few days after it rained these stink terribly from water not fully draining
Worked as expected for the first rain we got. Then the next rain storm came and two of these (out of six) split at the seam just under the downspout I connected it to so water leaks out of the instead of the unrolled part, in fact it doesn't unroll anymore since the water just pours out of the split seams. Also, not all the water drains out and after a few days all of these STINK to high heaven. The one in my backyard smells so bad I had to remove it because we couldn't sit on our porch due to the stink. I had to stick a hose in the gutters to clean all six of these out to try and get the stinky water out.

Downspout drain
I really didn’t think this could work. But it works wonderfully. And it’s not an eyesore.

Did not fully unroll - filled up like a water balloon
The first rain with the down spout extender attached did not go well. The unit only partially unrolled and the minor amount of debris that flowed through with the water clogged the end and the extender filled up like a water balloon. The next time it rained I secured the edge of the extender to keep it unrolled and the end did not open at all so it still ended up all backed up. It would be a great improvement if the opening at end of the extender was more flexible so that it did not remain closed when runoff is flowing through. We have removed this extender and replaced with a different solution.
