I am amazed at the quality of this apple corer. I didn't want to spend more because I thought it would be as flimsy as the plastic ones. Is not is not is not like the plastic ones. Indeed high quality stainless steel, and the handles will not wilt, nor fall apart. Spend the extra few bucks and get a good one like this. Even comes with a plastic bag to protect it, and you, during storage.

I like the apple slicer very much. It slices through the apples like a hot knife through soft butter. For my husband and I, both handicapped and Srs, this makes our daily Apple so much easier. But I was terribly DISAPPOINTED that the carrier bag that it comes in was torn. In fact the orange peeler was completely out of the bag and in the pages of a cookbook I got. I picked this peeler brand because my friend bought one, and I loved the bag it came in to help with storage. Apple cutters have a sharp side, and should not just be thrown into a drawer. I had my old one on a hook, but it still did not work. My friend keeps hers in the bag it came with, on a hook on the inside of the door, right above her cutting block. Since I have to cook from a wheel chair, my kitchen has been remodeled to accommodate me. My cupboards are built for me to have pegboard on the inside of the door, and I hang a lot of my tools I use everyday. So, for that I am very sad. It was a plastic bag made for it, just using another bag will not be the same

It slices my apples, but not all the way through. Kind of frustrating, but it does save me some time cutting it with a kitchen knife.Update: I have since replaced this apple slicer with one that better suits my needs and cuts through my entire apple. Blades in this slicer move, but when looking other slicers in stores, those do not have moving blades. Also, I believe reason for not being able to cut all the way through an apple is due to the fact that the blades line up to the bottom of slicer when they should stick out a little beyond it, allowing the blades to cut through entire apple.

I couldn't believe this works as good as it does! Just use the heel of your hands and a slight push and it's done! The first time I put a lot of pressure on it..it hit the table pretty hard. Very sturdy..comes with a cleaning brush as well. Takes seconds after you line up the core in the center. The only bit that could be better is the core hole is somewhat small and sometimes can leave parts of the core on the slices.

Halfway thru the third apple three of the weld points holding the slicer segments to the rim failed and the slicer/corer literally fell apart in my hands. The weld points were obviously very poorly executed. Buyer Beware !

I bought this for a blooming onion. Disaster. If you do only apples it's okay. The core is harder but not impossible.

I bought 2 of these (1 for home and 1 for at work). Both of them broke after about 3 uses on each of them. The blade assembly broke and came right out of the housing. One time of the times it sliced my hand. The blades would remain in the apple. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I bought this apple slicer because it looked tough. I've had several that broke or whose blades came unglued. I won't know how long the blades stay in place with this slicer prior to using it for several years, but so far it our impressions are very positive. It appears to be very, very solid. We are pleased with the purchase.
