Syrp Genie Mini II Motion Control, Pocket-size,
One of the best product i bought this year so far. Help me to get motion in my video and timelapes .

Overall good, room for improvement
I bought two of these to be able to pan and tilt and they do what they say, but the app can be a bit buggy and the motors are alarmingly loud so you won't be able to use them when filming. For timelapses or panoramas they are ideal so long as you get them to work with the app. When taking panoramas I've had it crash a few times which ruined the panorama I had set up.Neat feature is that you can connect a USB cable to control the shutter and exposure. This works well enough but is rather basic with the controls available.Overall good, however quite expensive for what they provide - especially if you buy two and combine with the connection brackets

Plug and play after a fashion, rather noisey at top speed!
Definitely a product for timelapses, would not recommend if planning to use for video work - at least not where you need sound!I purchased in addition to my DJI Ronin SC, and this makes a good product to throw in my camera bag if I need a motion control pan without balancing the gimbal. However, only useable if doing ADR as the Genie's motor makes a hell of a racket at the speed required for video! An ideal product if using for timelapses however! Compact, and a fraction of the price of competitors. Ideal if you're setting up somewhere public for several hours! The app works decently, I did have some trouble connecting and updating firmware initially - but sorted this after 30 mins or so of playing with phone settings and a few resets of the Genie.3/5 as my main intention is to use this for video - if you're planning to use this for timelapses, a 4/5.

Noisy motion control device, ideal to wake up your neighbors with.
I recently bought a Syrp Genie Mini 2 from their official website.Having used it for 4+ hours now, I feel like I can give a honest first impression of the product.I bought it for the turntable feature as I plan to use it as a motorized turntable for my photogrammetry subjects. When you buy it, don't forget to buy the turntable add-on & a link cable for your camera, to active the shutter through your mini 2.[The Setup]The initial setup was painful, connecting the genie 2 was easy. The problem came when the app crashed or when it randomly disconnected. I had to re-download the app multiple times. For some reason it hasn't been acting up for 2 hours straight. I call that a win.[The Experience]I like the form factor, it is relatively small and lightweight. Build quality wise it is okay. It feels solid but I wouldn't trust it to survive a drop from waist height though... While testing it, I found that it was quite noisy, irritating noisy to the point that made me wonder if I should use it during the evening to bother my neighbors with :D. Sadly I am not wicked enough to use it during the evening. When the app worked, it was a "smooth" experience, I was able to test out all the features and be happy that it worked.[Overall TLDR]When the app worked, it was a good time. If the app didn't work you were gonna have a bad time.A tad expensive for the price but yet again, I think this is basically the cheapest and most compact motorized motion control device with the most amount of "useful" features. I shouldn't have expected much but all the videos online made me believe I was going to be blown away by the product. I was not, the product is very generic and does what it promises to do.Even though this review might come off as slightly negative. I am happy with my purchase as it does what I initially bought it for. Of course there are some points of improvements but for my use-case, it works as intended.[Pros]+ If it does connect and the app doesn't crash, it does what it promises.+ Relative compact format[Cons]- Relatively noisy, would have preferred a silent motor but it is noticeably loud.- Collects dust on the rubber housing (probably why you get a fiber cloth included)- Needs a smartphone to control it with. Wished it had a remote.

Yeah but actually no
I so wanted this to work. I really persevered, but no, back it had to go.Issue 1, not a big one really. The thing attracts dust like a black hole attracts matter. The latex skin feels like it would resemble a well used 'stress reliever' very quickly2. The biggest issue. It screams! it's so loud and it sounds like it's about to explode each time you use it. Seriously guys what were you thinking???? I literally bought this for use on a small film set for b roll and I was too ashamed to take it out of the bagOther than that, yeah the IOS app works but ONLY 360 degrees. Then it stops, with an ease out curve that makes PP impossible. In future, make something with a silent motor a more flexible app and a tougher case and I'll be first in the queue

Fantastic for product photography & videography
I'm using both Syrp Genie Mini II and Edelkrone HeadOne for product photography and videography, and I have to say that Syrp is superior product with smoother movement (especially start/stop phase) and way better and more customizable software. Product turntable is also made of solid metal with threads and markings, unlike Edelkrone's plastic plate that barely supports anything heavier than few lbs. I'm a huge fan of Edelkrone and their whole product range, but Syrp is a superior product this time. Way louder though, but better. A keeper for sure!

ottimo
