I just upgraded my Ryzen 5 1500x to the Ryzen 7 3700x. I ran into the problem almost everyone has been dealing with that has done this process. I had lost my Brackets to hold the new Wraith cooler on. So I purchased these for my Asus Prime 370x-A mother board and they worked with the old back plate perfectly. Which I was very happy about because the one they send you is hard plastic.Also if you are reading this and you are worried your 370x series AM4 Mother board wont work, worry not! You just need to update your bios to the latest version. Just make sure you do this BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR NEW CPU, Also I suggest doing it with a USB stick. This was exactly what I needed for my Wraith Prism CPU cooler. I had bought my new CPU and realized shortly after that I wouldn't be able to use it as it was the "hook-type" cooler, and this was a lifesaver! It's low-profile as it's just all black, and works absolutely perfectly. The material is plastic I believe, but I've had no issues with it thus far. It is the proper AM4 dimensions (90 x 54mm), though make sure you buy one with reviews such as this one that give credibility to the dimensions. When I was considering purchasing this, I stumbled across another post that was near-identical to this item, and all of the reviews complained that it was in AM3 format. For this one, at least, I can guarantee that it's the proper dimensions. If you're like me and threw out the stock CPU bracket that came with your motherboard, for 8 bucks you can't go wrong here.

Much like many of you, I presume, I'm buying this because I was dumb and didn't keep the mounting brackets from my motherboard when I installed my AMD stock cooler. I went to install an aftermarket AIO, and lo and behold none of the mounts worked!Ordered this, since I had already used some adhesive to attach the old backing plate didn't remove it, and just installed the headers. They fit perfectly and are now holding my cooler properly in place.So if you, like me, are bad at keeping track of things you took off of your old motherboard, go ahead and buy this kit.

So I bought this because I had left my retention plate at home while I was working remotely and wanted to upgrade to a premium air cooler in my production rig. This does what it is advertised to do, it's a nice drop in replacement and it fits the AMD4 style motherboards well. However the screw holes are a bit shallower than the ones that come with the MB. As such you may need to buy longer screws for some of the top tier air coolers as the screws that come with them aren't long enough. A #6 machine screw that's 7/8 inch to 1 inch long is sufficient for a Be Quiet Black Rock Pro Cooler which is the one I put on here. This is long enough to accomodate all the covers and brackets that come with the mounting kit. 3/4 inch machine screws do "work" but they're on the small side and I wouldn't trust them. I would assume for other larger air coolers like the Noctua and other similar coolers you will also need to do this as well.When you adjust for the shallower screw holes, it works just fine. But you do need to be aware of this.

Bought this for an Asrock B550 Taichi motherboard when replacing my CPU air cooler with an AIO cooler. For some reason, the AM4 mounting was removed to accommodate the air cooler.Comes with back plate, the clips, screws, and a little screw driver. Works perfect and nice of them to include the screw driver for this low price. Just know the back plate is plastic and not metal. I am assuming metal would be better in dissipating heat than plastic.

Awesome product for someone who stupidly threw away they’re original bracket thinking it wouldn't be needed (which is me)🥺. Needed it to put the wraith cooler that comes with a Ryzen cpu and realized i had tossed the bracket i already had away awhile back. Gave it a search on amazon and low and behold found what i needed. Works great and now my cpu gets it necessary cooling it needs.
