Very handy. Works well.
After I bought this I was thinking maybe I would never use it and I wasted my money. I have only had this for a couple of weeks and have already used it. The dogs found a baby rattler in the yard yesterday. I got the dogs in the house, grabbed this and clamped it on the snake. The snake wasn’t going anywhere after that. I went inside to get the appropriate tool to dispatch the snake. In less than 60 seconds he was gone. I didn’t have to worry about where he went while I went back inside. I didn’t have to worry about how I was going to dispatch a small rattler because he was hiding in an inconvenient spot. Love this thing. If you have snakes, you need one.

Finally a decently made reach extender.
Thankfully, I don't need this for its intended purpose of snake handling. I see a big black snake every now and then, but we are happy to leave each other alone.I use reach extenders to pick up branches in the yard as well as handle firewood. I am very sick of cheap crappy ones that last only a week or so. These grabbers seem extremely well made with no plastic parts and a steel rod between the handle and the working end instead of a cable which will eventually fray and break. I don't see any issue lifting 8 pound logs with these. In hindsight, the 60" model is probably too long for me all the time so I have just ordered the 47" one. I'm happy to keep and use them both.

Works great in Arizona!
I've had this for 3.5 years now. We live in Phoenix, a block from one of the indian reservations. We get several rattlesnakes a year that manage to penetrate our backyard defenses. Just this last Saturday the dogs found a 2-foot rattler curled up in a agave plant. This has been a very reliable tool for handling diamondbacks. Obviously, you want to know you have a secure hold on them when moving a rattlesnake. I like this length, which keeps me a comfortable distance. The jaws are big enough for a full-sized adult Diamondback, yet close down quite nicely for the smaller ones which is what we usually get into the yard. Photo is from snake training the dogs, so the rattler has a muzzle.

lightweight & sturdy
I loved mine and it handled removing at least 12 4' snakes and I've had it almost 3 years but my lock fell off on the last catch. I'm buying another exactly the same because of the light weight. I'm a 110 lb 76 yr old woman. Two, one one each end of my home will comfort me. Great performance. Only 4 stars because the latch on my 1st failed (disappeared).

Very useful
We have a lot of rattlesnakes where we live. Great and safe way to relocating them. I also have used to get items too high for me....great all around grabber!
