Vent blocks with lint.
Edit: after I got my dad to remove this this for me we see that it's just some twigs. However even after we twinned some lint we could see that this would just happen again. Apparently the lint stuck because it created condensation from the heat hitting cold air. We didn't put thid cover back on. This vent is clogged less than a year after installing. I'll have to get someone on a ladder to take this down and clean it out (second story).

Gets the job done despite the shoddy material of the extension tube
My old dryer vent was did not have the extra extension tube, and my hose would constantly be coming unfastened especially during a storm with wind. When I replaced my dryer, I decided to replace the vent as well, and chose this one.Overall, I am pleased, but the man who installed my new dryer hesitated in installing the dryer hose to it because the aluminum extension is so light and flimsy, he thought it was plastic. I ended up getting an extension at the hardware store that was truly aluminum and more sturdy to replace the flimsy portion. I do like the levelor caged vent though and have not had issues with lint getting stuck to it that my previous one had.

Good vent hood, poor duct (but how to fix)
The plastic part of the vent hood is sturdier than the one replaced. On the old vent the flaps were thinner and had actually eroded away due to the sun breaking them down, the flaps on this vent were heavier and there were 2 instead of 3. However, one should be careful when installing this vent as the short piece of duct on the back of the vent is thin, almost paper thin, and will come apart when other duct is inserted into it. What I ended up doing to address this was: 1) put a piece of aluminum tape over the duct seam to prevent it from coming apart when the other duct is inserted, and 2) put a small 'dent' in the end of other duct at the same point where the seam is on the vent duct to avoid pressing on the vent duct seam. Also make sure that the seam on the vent duct does NOT line up with the seam on the other duct as that will push the vent duct apart too. Otherwise would have been 5 stars.
