This product did exactly as advertised and represented the dried creek bed I was wanting to recreate.

In love! Used up half a container in less than a month!
I love this product. It's thick and opaque, crackles well and mixes with acrylic paint perfectly. I've used it in so many projects already and I'll probably have to order another container by next month!

No crackle
I have tried this on 4 projects and to my dismay it still hasn't worked. I tried white glue first to enhance the crackle, got no crackle. Tried it without the glue, no crackle. I tried shaking and stirring it, no crackle. I am terribly disappointed with this product as painting is my passion and I am always experimenting with different mediums.

Edited Review
I just received this yesterday, and absent any instructions, I slathered it on a piece of Canson XL oil and acrylic paper. I spread the stuff thickly in some parts, and thinly in others. First, I learned effects are not apparent until well after the 3-4 hour recommended drying time. After about 6-7 hours I saw some small crackling in the thicker areas. Thinner areas did not crackle but did retain brush marks.Never having used any crackle medium before, I do t know if this s typical, but the product seems quite thick I will update this review after more practice with it.Having spread this quite thickly on the same paper, it certainly did crackle. Very LARGE crackles for the most part. I fear the paper is terminally curled, though. Will set it under a heavy book in an attempt to be able to use it.

It works
I applied a thin layer first and didn’t get any cracks. The next day I did a thicker layer and got cracks where it was thickest. I’m not very familiar to the texture but the top layer of mine was kind of crusty and I had to scrape it off the top to get to what was usable. I do like the consistency of this. I’m not sure if this is better than other brands.I’ve read reviews for other brands and they suggest to let it dry at least 12 hours. This seemed to dry in a few hours and I didn’t notice more cracks while waiting the longer time frame.I docked a star purely because the top layer was crusty and had to be scraped off. It was put in a thin bubble mailer so maybe that’s why?

Nice product
Was a little unsure at first but once I learned the tricks of amount for good adhesion it was a breeze to use. And your direction of application will determine the direction of the cracks. Control is not that difficult. Gives a nice touch.

Not a fan
I typically use Tim Holtz crackle paste but thought I’d try this since it’s less expensive. No comparison at all. I had a really hard time getting this to crack.
