These were not difficult to put together once I used a power Phillips screwdriver instead of the little hand Phillips that it came with. The installation guide was all pictures, no words, and a few steps were left out that were not to hard to figure out (like making sure the raw ends were all facing the right way). I am disappointed that the two 4-shelf parts do not connect to each other. You have to attach them to a wall for it to look like an 8-shelf unit. On the other hand, you can use the two parts separately. These shelf units will not stand on their own and must be mounted to the wall. Also, the green wall anchors that come with the kit are probably not strong enough, especially if you plan to put books on the shelves, so I would suggest getting stronger anchors. The shelves are not very tall and they are not adjustable, so some books will have to be placed horizontally. I am concerned about how much weight can be put on the shelves since there are only a top and bottom anchor holding it to the wall. I haven’t put it to the test yet and have my fingers crossed. They call it a corner bookshelf but I see no reason why it needs to be restricted to a corner.
