Don’t buy this unless you are very familiar with small engines and are fluent in written Chinese.
I use this as a trolling motor on my Proline 17’ center console and for visiting lakes that limit motors to under 10 HP. It’s a light weight motor that develops good thrust. I wanted an air cooled motor for use in shallow waters. I also wanted something to use on smaller, lighter boats. I have it on a lifting stern bracket and it works very well with it. The listing picture has the exhaust on the side of the muffler. My unit came with a top exhaust that is very close to the kill switch...2 mild burns so far. The twist grip throttle holds its position without having to use any form of a lock...a nice feature. It also came with a spare propeller and 2 spare shear pins...both nice touches. The lower unit came pre-filled with gear oil and that’s a a good thing because there is now way to add oil without taking the lower unit apart. Lastly, instructions say to use 92 octane fuel. I believe this is octane by the Chinese measurement standard which equates to 87 US octane. However, the motor sips fuel and for the slight cost difference better to use the higher octane to avoid pre-ignition in an air cooled engine. Happy boating!

Not Bad for the Price
At a fraction of the price of an equivalent engine, this one is not bad. Easy to start. The prefilled engine oil leaked inside the box so you need 4-stroke oil ready to replenish. After operating for a few miles at full speed, the engine died. I remembered some reviews had indicated that it could be caused by overheating. I let it cool for a few minutes, restarted the engine and moved on. No big deal! Don't expect services from the seller though as it did not even answer my inquiries.

This little Outboard has been amazing. Starts with one pull and has never failed. One thing I did have to install on it was an safety cut off switch. It's a requirement under USCG regulations.
