Baseball/softball trainer
This is a really cool item to have if you have little one (5 and up) that need to practice hitting a ball. I works great for developing hand and eye coordination, instant feed back when you miss hit the ball. My five year old need more work but as with any five year old, the attention span is not very high. The 10 year old, is having much better results. The results and time spent at home is better than the short hitting lessons they get during field practice. I'm able to teach her weight transfers, keeping her hands back and eye on the ball all the way through contact. She is hitting the ball more solidly and with more power without falling backwards or uplifting when she follows through on the swing. The was all achieved within the first week.It comes with a baseball, I ordered the softball for my daughter.on con wit this product - the wrap around cord is a hard plastic (for durability) and will not wrap around the pole tight enough on week hits to generate a fast return. After a short while the kid losses interest. I find it best to stand on the other side of the pole to help wind it up when this happens. Option two is have a friend on the other side or a pole to hit it back (alternate swings).Definitely a useful training tool that is portable and durable to use at home or bring to the practice field for all to use.

Bag it with a Pac-n-Play Bag. Perfect Fit!
In case you're needing a bag, I found an old Pac-n-Play and used the bag from it. It's as if it were made for it!The product itself works as described. Super sturdy. Very easy to assembly within seconds from its folding position and put back in its folding position. Ready to go right out of the box. It took longer to get it out of its shipping box then it did to get it up and hitting the ball. Have fun!

Nice product that’s very sturdy and works well, but might take a couple of tries to get a good one
Update: After having and using this product for a while, I’ll say it’s still a great product with one caveat... you have to be able to hit the ball pretty solid and be able to hit, reset, and hit again fairly quickly. My daughter is now 8 and has used this fairly successfully, but at times she just gets frustrated and quits because if she’s a bit off and doesn’t the ball level, or has a bit of a mishit, you have to stop, unwind the ball from the pole and start over. So some days it can be the wrong tool for a small/younger player, but for older kids or adults it should be fine. Overall I think a tee/soft toss and net probably is a better tool, but the swingaway is certainly convenient and you can get a lot of reps in a short amount of time if you can hit it consistently with the right timing.**************This product is heavy duty, and should last for a long time, assuming you get one that’s not defective. Like several other reviewers here, I had to return the first one I ordered due to the top tube being bent into an oval shape either in manufacturing or shipping, thus making it impossible to attach the top tube to the bottom section. For some silly reason they send this in the box off the shelf that was obviously never meant to be sturdy enough as a shipping container for a 40lb item. Both of the boxes I received were beat up and partially open, as the glue just simply is not strong enough to survive being shipped express by a carrier... good thing it’s all one-piece and nothing can really be lost out the hole in the box. The return was fast and easy and I actually had the replacement in two days! Big thumbs up to Amazon for that! As I’ve said before, this is a heavy item (roughly 40 lbs) so it’s not something super easy for a kid to set up/take down without a parent. My daughter is 7 and it weights almost as much as she does, but I don’t mind helping her set it up since I like the fact its a sturdy piece of equipment that I don’t have to worry about falling over. Even though it comes fully assembled you’ll need some tools, as BOTH of mine had all of the bolts left extremely loose. The loose bolts make it very unwieldy at all times and a bit wiggly when set up, not to mention that it rattles quite a bit. 5 minutes, a couple of 17mm wrenches, and a ratchet was all it took tightening them up and now it’s solid and quiet. I have no idea why these aren’t tightened properly from the factory. The nuts are all nylock type with split lock washers, so they’ll stay on firm even if not completely tightened down (you need them to be able to pivot and allow the stand to fold). To those who reviewers who broke the cable, two things: (1) make sure they aren’t twisted prior to hitting as that’ll put unnecessary stress on the cables and wear them prematurely, (2) you can buy replacements if you end up wearing them out for around $25-30... so no need to buy (or trash as one reviewer said) the whole stand. I’m sure the mfr would replace them free if they break on a new unit, or just return it. I’ve had the non-stand version of this for years and used it with my older daughter when she played softball. It held up really well, even with an adult hitting on it regularly (me), so the cables shouldn’t be an issue unless they’re twisted or defective.

Broke During First Use
Very poorly made. The metal is soft and the brackets that hold the cable snapped off and bent. I was able to repair the damage once but it happened repeatedly and was no longer usable. My 11 year old son was able to break this on the first day. I had to remove the brackets and cables (which was annoying due to a nut inside the metal tube) to attach the extra ball (sold separately) that fastens with hook-and-loop. Had I not purchased this extra ball my son would not have a usable hitting machine. This item should have come with the hook-and-loop attachment in its stock form. The only issue now was that this new ball and cable are too long and the ball loses speed when it is spinning around the tube for the next hit. Would not recommend purchasing this item. If I could return it I would.

Works for traveling!
This is great quality. We coach a baseball team and use this often. It has held up with use and is stable and doesn’t fall over when used. It is decently sized, but compacts nice for travel, just long

Works great
I bought this for my daughter and one for my girlfriends son and they work great for both of them. They're mobile, easy to set up and they help them both work on their timing and accuracy

My 8 year old broke this after only 3 times of using it for maybe 10 minutes a session!!
The base is a joke! Two of the welds literally just popped off the main upright pole within maybe 30 minutes of use from my 8 year old son. The only leg that the weld didn’t just popped off started to crack because of the stress. You can see only the two sides of the support legs are even welded, thankfully I have a welder and can properly weld this back together so it’s not just for the scrap pile. If you don’t have access to a welder or someone who can weld you might want to consider a different brand! For the cost I’m disappointed in the lack of quality, the welding machines did a terrible job on this one. I like the idea of this device and will continue to use it, I also think it is helpful for swing practice so I’m not giving 1 star but for over $100 they need to full weld these on and get proper welds that actually penetrate the metal.
