No voltage at all. It is to be connected to an air pump outside the tank. There are various sizes of air pumps that would work. Most of these are relative low wattage unless you get a central pump to run multiple filters.

Q: Has anyone used this successfully in horizontal position for shallow water

Not intentionally. But my monstrous goldfish is always messing with it so it frequently ends up rotated at least 45°. I’ve never let it get completely horizontal but it doesn’t seem to have problems at the 45° it’s currently resting at. Have you considered one of the shorter/smaller sponge filters that sit on the bottom of the tank?

Q: Why does it quit blowing bubbles? I cleaned everything. Hose by itself is blasting bubbles.

It is recommended that you replace the air pump or hose, or reinstall and fasten the pipe and other parts of the product itself.
