The Most Have Guide You Need
This is the latest edition of the excellent Missing Manual series from author David Pogue. This series is always on my must list. Many people don't really know how to use their phones or computers besides basic functions. The Missing Manual series is an excellent guide to hidden, little known features as well as explaining any changes, additions or things that were removed. Written in plain English with beautiful full color photos of the various screens and menus, this book takes you to power level. It makes things, faster, easier and more fun to do things on your iPhone. Many features are not easily found and will only be discovered with a guide or a subscription to MacWorld or Maclife. You can amaze your family and friends with your new found knowledge. I am always being asked to help someone because they don't know how to use a feature, software or setting on their phones. I'm able to help because of the excellent information found in the Missing Manual books. Grab a copy for your phone, computer or software you regularly use. The tips and tricks will save you time and money. It is also entertaining because the author is naturally funny, something not ordinarily found in computer books. I see many people become frustrated with their device because they won't take the time to learn how to use it. Yes, you can go to the Apple Store, but I would rather do things myself. This book ensures the knowledge to do so.

iPhone: The Missing Manual, Almost like having a live tech support come to your home!
I just got my first iPhone since they first came out. I had one of the first ones and I didn't like it so when I got ready for the next one, Samsung had come out with the Galaxy series. I got a Galaxy III and I have stuck with them until this March (2020) when I was getting hearing aids for the first time. I had been told that the iPhone bluetooth worked better with hearing aids than the Samsung so I bought an iPhone...and hearing aids (Miracle Ear) The hearing aids pair great with the iPhone. I LOVE the phone and hearing aids. I can hear AND I actually like the iPhone. Anyway, a long way around to saying WHY I like the Missing Manual book. It is very readable, organized well and clear enough for even a senior citizen to understand. (I'm 75.) I haven't found hardly anything that I can't figure out from the Manual. (One or two things but not much.)I do like the iPhone. I miss my Samsung! I do think the iPhone is superior to the Samsung BUT Apple definitely has a different way of doing things and it is more complicated. The Missing Manual will guide you through the maze for most things and, if we can ever get back to live tech support, they will be able to clear up the rest.

Was too hard for senior mom to understand
I completely understand this isn't advertised as a guide for seniors, but I was hoping it would be simple enough as generally instructions included in the box are pretty simple. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case as it was way too complex for her to understand. It went into a lot of detail on more advanced features vs. keeping it simple. I'm sure it's fine for others, just wasn't what we needed.

Through manu but only up to IOS13
Very complete guide to iPhones but unfortunately only (currently goes up to iOS13. Nevertheless, it's the best, most complete manual I've ever seen for beginners to experts. Wonderful, clear through instructions and illustrationsBuy this and look to Apple iOD updates for latest info. iOS14 and 15 have updates but not enough to make this manuals obsolete.

Pogue's macOS Sierra: A Clear, Comprehensive Manual -- Laced with Wit
Pogue's macOS Sierra: “The Missing Manual: the book that should have been in the box” is an apt subtitle of this comprehensive book. This updated edition covers all models with macOS Sierra software. I enjoyed reading the earlier editions of this comprehensive book, learning a lot from David Pogue’s lucid expository style laced with humor. The Current Update retains all of the earlier features. Great! Here are some examples of Pogue’s writing style that has made this book a world-wide bestseller. Chosen from the beginning, middle and end of the book, all page numbers below refer to the Current Edition: the macOS Sierra.“Beginning with Sierra, Apple no longer calls the Mac operating system ‘OS X.’ It’s now ‘macOS.’ That’s partly because Apple sought consistency with the software in its other products—iOS and watchOS—and partly, no doubt because it was tired of hearing prounounce it ‘Oh ess sex’ “ (page 1).

Excellent how-to, for non-Apple newbies
Excellent 'how-to' for those of us hoping to trek through the iPhone jungle, without falling into a swamp or being eaten by cannibals."Just the facts, ma'am!" But more, much more, if one needs or desires. Starts with quick outline, each topic referenced by PAGE NUMBER (not "Chapter"!) for quick details, then easy return to the trail upwards.Especially useful is distinction of difference twixt SE(2020) and the myriad other species of iPhones.[Pause: yes, the SE(2020) is phantastic ... if you speak 'Apple'.]For us non-Apples, more immediate guidance than say, QUE's "My iPhone" 12 th Ed. (Also, only $13.)Recommended [Maybe get two, and give a friend-in-need a Christmas present?]

A must read for new users of iPhone; helpful for old pros too!
Another winner in Pogue's Missing Manual series. A must-read for new users like myself. I spent my first two hours just skipping around in the book, looking up things that I needed help with. Great index and TOC makes that a breeze. TBH, I only needed help with a few things but kept finding interesting side-reads about handy features that I didn't know the phone had. I'm even more excited about my new phone now! As ever, Pogue does a great job of explaining things concisely but comprehensively in plain English, with lots of helpful power-user tips thrown in. Four-color printing is a welcome and helpful improvement over the Missing Manual series for Mac OS, making the book very inviting. This book is the perfect size, too; not so huge that you won't want to pick it up, but not so thin as to be incomplete. Unless you have a pre-7 iPhone, you should get the newest edition of the book; it covers iOS 13, which runs on iPhone 7 and newer.

Brilliant as usual from this author!
If you are a newcomer to iPhones (as I was) the important bit about setting up your new 'phone is towards the back of the book - don't be put off by starting reading from the front! However, once you have the basics up and running, this book is a treasure trove of information, written in David Pogue's usual easy-going style - I have all his Mac books too, all are money well spent! 100% recommended!

Excellent Reference Manual
This ‘dip-in-out’ manual is most comprehensive but less parlance would be better, ie., plain English!
