my neighbors kept breaking into my house so we got new locks and this keeps them out juuuuust fine!

I need to update my front door and the Kwikset latch/deadbolt did the trick. Plus, it looks so much better than the older latch/deadbolt.

People who are saying this doesn't fit are likely installing this incorrectly. The top "pin" on the outside door handle does not go through the deadbolt. It lies underneath the deadbolt mechanism. The deadbolt latch (inside) part has a pin that goes into the deadbolt and a hole to recieve the pin that lays underneath. Hope this helps someone who may think it doesn't fit. Works great, feels great, solidly made handle.

Very nice lock set that was easy to install when the directions are followed. Some of the steps are already done when you receive it (parts assembled) but not too confusing. The lock looks great and you can make your lock match other keys if you wish.

Like many other commenters, i thought the handle was about a 1/2 inch shorter from the handle to the deadbolt than needed. This is NOT the case, keep pushing ahead and when you go to install the interior deadbolt handle there's a funny mechanism which has an 'out' prong and an 'in' hole, which slot in to add the extra half inch.

This is not a new item and I bought a NEW item. Item seems to be previously installed or used because of some slightly scratches in the handle and lock. The box was open and damaged inside since all parts were not in place. I will try to install it and see if it works because we need to replace the front door lock. If it works, the least I request is some credit for sending and used lock instead of a new one. Hope all screws are in there because plastics envelopes were opened.

There’s nothing cheap about this, very solid and was easy to install, really makes the door look nice again.
