Read the description before buying hoses that are suggested
Haven't tried the pump yet but dont buy any of the "suggested" hose sizes, it auggesed a 5/8 ID 1/2 and none of the hose barbs with the pump fit it, the hose will actually fit inside the hose barb. Update 11/29 Works well so far after three water changes, will advise to throw some teflon tape on the barb that works best, it leaked a little at first and after trying a o-ring so tape it was . I have a extra fluval hose for the 7 series pumps and the rubber ends made a great seal on the barb and easily removed for storage. Takes up minimal space and water changes to and from buckets are a breeze. Will buy again if anything happens.

Quiet and capable of sucking up d
Exactly what I was looking for. Quiet and pulls up Debris and fecal into the column. Doesn’t stop if big debris goes inside pump keeps going. Super quiet! The Others I bought were too loud for my 180 gallon. No too strong either. Perfect product !

Absolutely worth it for a price like this
At first I was not sure if this would work and I felt hesitant to even put it in water even though its submersible but I actually did manage to find a hose from another product I bought from amazon that was trash for water cleaning and it fit on the fittings that come with this product. The hygger 400 comes with three fittings and I was impressed that this actually worked out, anyway the machine isnt very quiet which is fine but it does a stupendous job!! It not only absorbs the water but it did not disturb my substrate so cleaning was much much easier. I was able to get the entire job done in 2 hours. (Probably could have been sooner but I was fiddling with decor) So in a nut shell: Worth the money? Yes Saves time in weekly water changes? Yes Disturbs decor and substrate? No Easy to use? Yes Comes with a hose? No. Comes with instructions? Yes. Can be safely submerged? Yes. I have two goldfish named Twin Flames and they reside in a 21 gallon tank.

Does the job, but 1/2" fitting is too small
I have both the 215 GPH and 400 GPH models. My use is for pumping new water into an aquarium. It is also useful if you need to quickly remove water from an aquarium, but I prefer using a siphon vacuum for draining. I recently bought a 10 gallon aquarium and found that the 400 GPH model was too strong and caused the substrate to be disturbed. The smaller 215 GPH model is weaker and works great for the smaller aquarium. I don't have any complaints about the 400 GPH model, but for the 200 GPH model the included 1/2" barb fitting is slightly smaller than 1/2". That causes 1/2" ID tubing to not fit snug, and the hose blows off in use. I see two other reviewers who noted the same issue. I've had no issues with the other fittings, and it seems to be an issue limited to the 1/2" fitting with the 200 GPH model.

This thing will fail in 1-2 months.
This thing has failed me by August. Literally a 6mo use. I have unplugged it and switched sockets multiple times. This thing was not built to last long. Very disappointing, as I was injured in June and have grown to rely on this thing for water changes as I am unable to walk. Purchased it in February and it's quit working already. I read that mised reviews on Hygger products and this thing has let me down when I needed it most. I filled my bucket with waste water and plugged this thing in, and it just sat submerged in dark water🤢. I was so disappointed. Took it apart, and removed magnetic impeller. I will update when I try again this week of it works but so far, huge let down. Don't waste your money unless you just need this for a month or two.

Absolutely revolutionized our waterchanges
Our use-case is: We have a 40gal fancy goldfish tank and we age the water in a companion tank (no livestock, just water + conditioner and a bubbler) for a few days between changes. We use a facet-based water changer (Google "Python water changer" for the idea, but we use aqueon w/ aftermarket 50ft tube after having issues with the green-plastic python design) to drain the water, but then we had a normal water pump to move it from the aging tank back into the GF tank. Whenever we'd get down to the last 2-3 gallons in the aging tank, our old one would need to be laid down, and maybe held in place and it couldn't even get the last 0.5 gallons anyway. What a pain. This one sucks from the bottom and can empty about 99.5% of the water out of our little 10 gallon water ager. I haven't had a need yet since we downsized our tanks (I had 10 at one point before moving), but I can think of many uses for a pump like this. I believe any intermediate+ fish keeper absolutely should keep this on hand even if they're not using it regularly. Emptying out a tank for a move or for a super-clean would have been SO much easier with this rather than trying to use my waterchanger and a turkey baster to get the last .5gal of water out of my tanks. If you need to fully dry a tank, run this until it is making so much noise you're worried, then tip the tank onto a slope so the water pools and pump out what you can, then lay a towel down for 10-30m and finally towel up the rest. That's maybe 5-10 mins of labor and the rest is monitoring. Highly recommended! Note, however, that the flowrate isn't high, so if you're on a tight timeline, you may want to upgrade to a higher GPH for 50, 75, 100+ tanks.

Pumps too fast when filling my aquarium I fill 2, 5 gallon buckets in my sink to fill my 75 gallon aquarium. And keep the faucet running the whole time and it depletes all the water so fast I have to turn it off and refill the buckets before continuing. Not a big issue, I just should have gone down a size.

This pump makes water changes so much easier and faster. Instead of gravity draining your tank you can pump it out much faster. Price is great for the duty of its work. Would recommend
