The Abba Factor, by Dr. Kerry Wood (2018), is splendidly written. The author captures the reader’s attention as he opens with a vivid picture of a joy ride through the Rocky Mountains cultivating a clear embodiment to life’s journey. The book is the second of a three-part trilogy, building on The Abba Foundation by Dr. Chiqui Wood (2018). The central theme, how the Holy Spirit transforms our mindset or personal worldview (orphan spirit) into a partnership with the Father to carry out the Father’s business (sonship), is clearly developed throughout the book. Wood (2018) notes, the orphan spirit is not a demonic or human spirit, but an attitude which drives unimaginable energy in the quest to obtain position, power, and possessions; anything that will validate personal worth. Gender neutral, sonship refers to sons and daughters; a position of belonging and identity in Christ.The orphan spirit’s indiscretion toward all humanity is traced from Adam to current events, driving a performance-based ideology leading to an endless search for joy and happiness. Building on the overflowing love of the Father, highlighted in The Abba Foundation, Wood (2018) provides an exquisite roadmap to move from orphan to heir. Finally, the structure of the book is very friendly to group studies with an array of well thought out discussion questions at the end of each chapter.

Hands down one of the best books I have read this year and very transformative. It is the message for this hour in the body.
