Does it's job

Just found out we're expecting and to prevent to Zika Virus I purchased this and Sawyer Permethrin (I'll be helping out on a farm so wanted something extra special for clothes). Even though I don't smell as good as a nice fragrance or lotion....an just straight up bug spray...it's highly worth it. I spray down before I go outside, spraying my feet, legs, arms, neck and finally my clothes. I wear dresses that are long or either to my knee cap so I make sure that everything that is exposed is sprayed down. The smell is strong when spraying so I use a soft cotton cloth (my babies 100% cotton Aden & Anais Burp Bib), I hold it over my nose and spray away! I highly recommend for, must importantly, pregnant women in these days with the Zika Virus...purchase a huge load..even Walmart has them in stock. Spray down every day before going out, even if its on your porch. Reapply when you fill the need to. Try to stay inside as much as you can if possible and instead of having the windows rolled down in your car, turn the air conditioner on...saves money too (gas wise). If you need to spray your face, spray in your hands first and then apply to face. Might want to also consider mosquito bracelets...they do not have deet (which I do not like) but I heard that some do help a little bit with using strong natural scents. In general I would say if you needed a good bug repellant, you need deet as an ingredient and preferably! This product does a great job at that! Thinking about getting the 100 Deet max for when working out on the farm a couple days a week. Great product.will be applying all summer long and beyond!

I normally would avoid DEET products, but when preparing for a trip to Mexico, I did a lot of research and determined that some DEET exposure over the course of a week was better than being covered with mosquito bites (and whatever they may have transmitted) during my time in the area. I settled on this product and was very pleased with the results - while others couldn't keep the hordes of mosquitos off, my husband and I didn't get a single bite. It was so effective that we let others in our group use it because their insect repellant wasn't doing the trick. As expected, the spray has a strong chemical odor that can linger after application but does wear off eventually and washes out of clothes easily. We found it was best to hold our breath during application to avoid breathing it in. When outside continuously, we reapplied a light coat about every hour, duing which time we were also sweating. Now that we are back home, I won't have a need for such a powerful repellant and will go back to more natural but less effective ways of repelling insects. But for when you need it, this repellant protects you like nothing else could!

It works

I actually bought these to shine up the old headlights on my vehicle. They work extremely well.

Purchased for mountain biking through conservation land that allows cycling. It is very humid and there is high risk for deer ticks and mosquitoes. I was getting bit by 3-4 mosquitoes a ride just stopping 20 seconds to take a sip of water until I said enough was enough. This repel went into the backpack, and now before I ride I spray both fore arms twice on top and bottom (wrist and elbow), as well as calves (ankle and knee), and neck (both sides). I just counted and that's 18 times; it's lasted at least 10 rides. I haven't been bitten since. I am not sure about the toxicity of DEET or its warnings but I don't get it on any cutaneous membranes, eat it, or spray it in my eyes. I take a full shower after my 3-4 hour activity and have has no negative reactions; this is generally good advice after exercising with chemicals on you. Small form factor makes it great for tight bags (its no thicker than a mans hand), I do not notice the weight in my bag at all, and the mechanical applicator mists well. Lastly the price on this for the concentration and size has me ready to purchase one or two more just to have on hand. Tips: Cannot be sprayed upside down (you'll get one or two spritzes before you have to right it again). Put it in a ziplock just in case it leaks -- hasn't been an issue but the cap cracked and I lost it so this was the fallback. Containing stuff like this in your bag is always a good idea because you don't want to imagine the mess if it leaks. Avoid spraying near other people except significant other because everyone else will want you to share, and this is the fun size. If you want to use it again you'll want to selfishly hoard your magical anti-nature cologne. Don't leave for extended periods on synthetic clothing as DEET can damage them (solvent), and don't leave this stuff on yourself for extended periods if you can help it because too much of a good thing is a bad thing. Buy a bigger size if your life depends on it, or a reservoir size as well so you can take this little one with you in your day pack.

Love this stuff. Can't go outside without it. Works great for mosquitoes.
