Green Valley Organic Lactose Free Sour Cream, 12 Ounce

Many members of my family are lactose intolerant, including myself. As the years have gone by, it has gotten worse. I can eat some dairy provided I use Lactaid pills before, during, and after eating.As it is problematic (not to mention expensive) to always have Lactaid around, I have forgone some things, like sour cream, cream cheese, etc. because it is simpler to do without. That is, until I found the Green Valley Organic Lactose Free line at my local Whole Foods. Apparently, many Whole Foods carry them but some do not. I found mine in Dallas but my younger daughter did not find them at the flagship store in Austin (weird, right?) I think it is possible that you can ask your local Whole Foods to order them for you.The whole line is great - I just wish they would add a few more things - heavy cream, buttermilk, and butter would be fantastic to start.This sour cream is delicious and works just like regular sour cream, which is what it is just minus the undigested lactose. I use it in all recipes that I previously avoided. I can make dips, use it on baked potatoes, tacos, etc. etc.If I didn't have local access to the product, this price here is pretty high. I understand why as it has to be refrigerated and shipping must be quite involved. I must admit I would pay for it on occasion as I really like being able to make certain things and eat them without dealing with the pain and discomfort that can follow.

This sour cream is amazing!!! I went years without being able to have sour cream before discovering this delicious lactose-free brand. The taste is so fresh and so creamy. Even if I could go back to eating foods with lactose, I wouldn't stop buying this sour cream! It is delicious on everything that you would use regular sour cream for. The taste and the texture are excellent! I have since tried their other lactose-free products (cream cheese, yogurt, kefir), and they are equally as amazing!

I absolutely love this sour cream and was so glad to find it. I was diagnosed lactose intolerant about 2 years ago and didn't realize that there were such products out there. What was even better is to discover that I like the taste of this sour cream even better than the regular kind (I used Breakstone). It is so creamy-you have to stir it up first to blend it all together-and silky smooth and has just the right bite you expect from sour cream without having that strong, twangy aftertaste some sour creams have. It is expensive but definitely worth it.

I couldn't care less about the "organic lactose free" part but it is absolutely the best tasting sour cream I've tasted. Don't understand the reviewer who found it "bland" but tastes are different and mine loves Green Valley.

I really don't understand ANYONE liking this stuff.......... It's bland ---- there's no sour there. It's very thick - unpleasantly so. Like, well, like the caulk that comes out of a caulk gun? Sound appetizing? I'm sure it's lactose free though. The little guys obviouisly all left such an unpleasant environment.
