Realistic flames, fairly easy to assemble, looks good
Flames: I'm pleasantly surprised how realistic the flames look. I am kind of picky and didn't want something that looked really fake and was worried about this. You can tell they're not actually real, but they're real looking enough that some people would probably be fooled.Mantle: The frame construction and materials are very solid and high quality, I'm pleased by the looks of the mantle.Remote: The remote has a good number of settings for fireplace on/off, flame color, ember and flame brightness, upper log illumination light on/off, modulating embers on/off, temperature setting, etc.Fan: You can hear the fan but it is not too loud. The fan runs only when the heating is running and it's reasonably quiet. (... A variable heat and fan speed would have been a nice extra feature, but the fan sound level is not really any significant problem).Heat: Seems to be fairly good so far.Safety: I was curious about the safety of people or kids or animals being burned on the front of this, so I ran the heater for 20 minutes and did a crude test where I put my fingers directly on the front of the heater output where it's the hottest. The exhaust screen was hot, but I didn't burn myself when I touched the heater exhaust screen. But people should make their own evaluation and judgement. So it's hot but not as much of a hazard as it could have been. (The heater exhaust screen is up about 2 feet off of the floor).Assembly: It took me about an hour to unpack and assemble the mantle/frame, and about 15 minutes to unpack and install in the fire box. When I assembled the mantle parts I loosely attached the screws in each part until I could align everything and then tightened them as a group. That seemed help me make everything in the frame align perfectly the way I liked it. I was careful to firmly tighten the screws, but not overtighten them so that the frame would be solid but I then wasn't in danger of stripping out the screw attachments in the wood by overtightening them.Future Improvement Ideas: Small minor things that I hope they might improve someday in a newer model:- When I set our fireplace heater to 71 degrees it actually heats the room to 74 degrees. Not a big deal, but it's a little bit off, but not enough to be a problem. 71 degrees is the lowest setting, so it would be nice to have an additional setting a few degrees lower, (especially since the 71 setting really ends up being 74 degrees on our unit). Temp settings are "OFF", 71, 75, 78, 82, 86, and 89 deg F. You can also set it to be displayed in degrees C.- When the fireplace heater is heating it's always on full heat, it might have a been nice extra feature to have a lower current 50% heat setting (that would be both a lesser amount of current and perhaps a slower/quieter fan). But it's not really a big deal on this one either. Just a minor suggestion for a possible future improvement.Measurements: I measured the plug current and wattage by using a meter on the line cord. On our unit when it was heating the current bounced between 11.5 and 12A. The voltage at the plug was 112V during those measurements. The meter said the net line wattage being consumed while the heater was running was bouncing between 1250 and 1300 watts. All of these are reasonable levels for a typical 15A house circuit, though you could trip a breaker if there is another appliance (like another heater or a microwave) that pulls a lot of current on the same circuit breaker. When in flame-only mode (no heater) the meter measured only 8 watts being used. (That's about the same amount of power as an old-style incandescent night-light bulb, so it's a low power level when only the flame feature is being used without the heater).Summary: Overall I'm very happy with it. Flames look good, it heats well, and the mantle looks high quality.Pictures: I included some pictures taken with the room lights on and off, windows open and closed, and heater function on and off so you can see the various lighting situations and various heating/non-heating modes. I also took one where the front panel display was still lit so you could see that. (It normally goes off by itself after a few seconds).

Just what I hoped for!!
After 18 months of hemming and hawing, we finally agreed to get an electric fireplace. Our house was affordable, but didn't have a fireplace, which made me sad. THIS IS THE PERFECT SOLUTION!First: the size is just lovely. It's slightly taller than 3 feet, but its presence is substantial. It is not overwhelming for our rather smallish living room.Second: the quality is above my expectations. The wood is solid, the pre-drilled holes ALL lined up as they ought, and all the pieces fit together the way the picture shows. I had to use a power drill to make the holes for the screws that secure the firebox to the mantle. Other than that, it was a total cinch.Third: the color is just right. I was concerned that the name of this color was 'Espresso'. Real espresso coffee is very dark, but this piece isn't. It is darker than what is shown in the pictures, but not by much. It's just a bit deeper brown.Fourth: the firebox is great. There are little metal mesh curtains you can pull over the front of the glass firebox to make it look like a real fireplace grate. The 'log' embers glow and the flickering 'flames' are quite pleasing. It's handy that it comes with a remote control. I also like that the firebox is about six inches above the ground within the mantle. Just a nice aesthetic. Finally, the whole thing only took about an hour for me to put together (and that was with my 3 year old 'helping'), even though I had to bust out the power drill. It's solid, lovely, and just what I was wanting. Looking forward to cozy nights by the fire when the snow starts blowing!

Fabulous Fireplace!
My hubby and I love this fireplace! We recently removed a large cast iron wood stove from this space and this fireplace is perfect. It was so easy to put together. The instructions were very clear. The hardest part was attaching the firebox, but I'm 74 years old with little arthritic hands. If you have a power screwdriver it would be no problem. The fireplace arrived quickly, was packaged securely and had absolutely no damage. The firebox allows adjustability for flames and heat. I noted that a previous reviewer felt deceived that there were no side panels. As you can see from the picture, side panels are unnecessary as the fireplace fits snugly in the corner. If you're considering this purchase, just do it! You'll be glad you did!

Very nice fireplace
Perfect corner fireplace. Gives off decent heat. Really helps keep the temp in our home during the winter to keep the emergency heat from coming on.

Beautiful! But too expensive.
I was very nervous to order this because it's so expensive but had been watching it for years and finally ready after redecorating.. caught it on sale during Prime (still over priced) but bought it anyways.. contacted the Seller to make sure that it's electric and not gel and that it would be protected with padding during shipment.. seller responded right away reassured my concerns..got it 3 days early in 2 heavy boxes in excellent condition..VERY easy to assemble!!! but took me 4 hrs to assemble (can easily do it in an hour) as I took my time..all you need is included..I don't recommend using a drill although you will be tempted to..the allen wrench is perfect and limits overtightening..I did have a problem getting the top mantle to sit flat by 1/8 of an inch but loosened the screws on the side panels and it dropped right down..went around and tighten all screws..installed the fire box with the included 4 screws and a screw driver (no pre-drilled holes but you just screw in using pressure) and turned it on...advised to assemble on carpet..had to assemble in another room but followed the advice of another buyer to assemble up to the sides/base then move it to the final room and complete..fits perfectly in my bedroom corner and matches my white baseboards and decor..beautiful!!
