Another fine season, characters evolving all the while. What hope for Jamie's fiancee Eddie of acceptance in the Regan family, she with a con-artist father in jail and a mother so demanding? Jamie's promotion to sergeant in another precinct brings challenges, certain officersthere needing to be brought firmly into line. Erin's promotion at the D.A.'s office brings her into conflict with the Police Commissioner. He being her father, this can be awkward.As ever, there is much to discuss at the family Sunday meals - a mystery how the food remains hot, if indeed it does.22 episodes. As well as major crimes solved, the inevitable frequent chases and violence, many important issues are raised. Examples? More female officers needed when questioning victims of rape and sex trafficking. More community policing essential, especially in run down areas. More promotions important from ethnic groups. Sympathy needed in cases of euthanasia? Should a copkiller ever be granted parole?As ever, there is much to admire: incisive scripts, fine cast. Interesting bonus features show how the main characters have developed over the years.Much that is tough. Much that is moving. Appreciation is increased for those in the front line trying to keep us safe. What a tribute that the police themselves rate the series so highly - so much ringing true, this as it is.

I love this show about a true family, a family of cpps and lawyers. I bought this for my wife at christmas ,I love the show I will miss it when its finished,always keeps me guessing the outcome if each episode, they never seem to put om weight eating all the time,around the dinner table lol , great cast , great stories, and great acting.

Wanted to get up to date so I could watch season 10 currently airing on TV and as Sky saw fit to delete my recordings of season 9 from my planner, this was a welcome way to get up to speed on ongoing story lines. Easy to sort, done in minutes.

Brilliant from start to finish with unexpected twists in the tale.

Hours of watching satisfaction without distraction of adverts. Bit of a shock to find that each episode runs to just 42 minutes. The conflicts of interest are handled clumsily. Did they really have to place Janko in same station as Jamie. Still, it creates a tension that the writers keep mining. Frank is still wonderful. Greatly looking forward to next year's season 10.

I watch this for entertainment,relaxation and despite there is someone who is always a victim and has died, it has conclusive endings leaving me with the feeling that good will prevail!
