These reels are unbelievable. You won’t find a better reel for the money. Unbelievable value. Super smooth, very strong and the 2 speed is easy to engage. I have numerous types of saltwater reels. But the Penns are the most reliable and cost way less. Penn for life.

I really love this reel, the two speed and lever drag combined make things extremely easy to fight a big fish. Just took it out and caught a 48 lb. Bluefin (+ many Yellowfin in the 20 lb. class) The two speed allows you to get a slight break while reeling in a big fish by changing the gear ratio. You don't make as much progress, but it can give you a few minutes of ease, then drop it back down and continue the fight. (not sure if that is it's intended purpose or not). Also I really like the lever drag, this makes things really easy, you can always have the drag slightly engaged or increase it on the fly with a simple touch. It also happens to be one of the easiest level-wind reels I have ever used to cast. I can easily cast 20-30 feet with a small anchovy and heavy line (with a little practice). The reel is also extremely lightweight, and compact, but extremely durable. Lot's of room for plenty line too. I love it, and am glad I purchased it. Ill probably get another one (or maybe a couple more in different sizes).

This is an excellent entry level 2 speed lever drag reel. You get a lot of bang for your buck, but don't think for a second that this is "as good" as one of those $500+ anodized reels. I have several of these Fathoms and keep 60# or less line on them. Good backup/loaner reels. Much better than Senators, but more complicated for inexperienced newbies.

Smooth and lightweight to the touch. This had quickly become my favorite. The two speed option is great to use. Caught Black tail tuna, Cobia and other fish and this reel makes it easy.

What can I say. Its a PENN. Good Quality, easy to use and the best bit. It does what it says on the box. Good services and delivery.
