Great product to have some fun with!
I wanted to wait until I finished my build before I reviewed this product. And now I can, with all honesty say that I am so happy I bought this tank. If you're just doing the bare minimum this tank will provide a nice sturdy home for your reptile. It's easy to put together and holds heat really well. But who really wants to do the bare minimum. I had so much fun designing and building this. Some things I did:-Covered the top and sides in vinyl contact paper (the wood is a little slivery).-Lined the bottom with heavy plastic sheeting.-Built up the background with styrofoam and expanding foam, then covered in grout, painted it and sealed it all.-Added a few extra vent holes near the top.-Wired lights for heat and light.-Added loose substrate and lots of hides (even a little bling) and added plants and clean-up crew bugs to create a bioactive wonderland. All in all a fun project and a nice sturdy home with lots of room for Kitty the leopard gecko. I would definitely recommend this enclosure to anyone who wants to have some fun and get creative.

Will buy again in the future
[Picture is unfinished, inside has been painted with Drylok but nothing else yet]Im not sure why people are having issues with the wood cracking, as long as you line it up properly and don't over tighten your screws that shouldnt be an issue. I got 5 of these and had them all fully put together after a couple hours by myself. Simple setup, I didn't use the instructions cause I mean, it's a box. The edges don't meet up 100% perfectly but could easily be fixed with some sanding, but it doesn't bother me any.Sealing mine with drylok original and painting the outside black. They were packed really well, all glass arrived in great condition, only a small bit of wood chipped off but it doesnt affect the cage any.Overall impressed with the quality, great for someone like me who loves making DIY enclosures but doesn't have the room or supply to cut my own lumber.

works pretty good for my dwarf hamster!
this product is amazing, maybe a little overpriced since it’s just cork board but it works good for my dwarf hamster. it’s not the sturdiest and it was kind of difficult to build because there was no directions! but we eventually figured it out. it holds just the right amount of bedding for my buddy to burrow, 7 inches, and it’s very big compared to his old cage. i’m sure this product would work perfect for a bearded dragon, and other animals but if you’re looking for a new cage for your hamster, i’d suggest this one! one problem i had was that the bottom is just wood so you do need to cover it with something so there pee doesn’t soak through and mold and eventually stink. i used wood finish which worked perfect after about 12 coats (seems like a lot but it needs to be thick) overall i would give this product a 4 star rating 👍

Disappointing
I feel like I might have wasted money on this. None of the boards where labeled so o guessed which one goes where but that wasn’t that hard.If you are going to build this please make sure that you sand it down before you start. Also check your screws. A few of mine where striped but luckily I had nails and when it was put together I just hammered in where I needed. Also check the size of the boards mine turned out kinda funny because some boards where a little bit bigger than the others. You do have to find a way to add in your own lights and basking and heat bulbs.I would definitely buy sealant if you are going to get this. And maybe a protective coating spray.I would NOT recommend this for snakes if you are going to buy it as the glass doors do not have a lock and easily open and we all know that snakes are amazing escape artists.I feel like I could have spent the same price at the hardware store and gotten better wood for the same price but since this is able to be delivered that’s a pro.But other wise this is not something I will ever buy again and I am debating wither or not I think it is safe enough to use for my beardie. I guess after I sand it down and add sealant and a protective coating I will reevaluate and see.But I am not impressed at all.

Horrible assembly
The viv is sturdy but it was horrible to assemble. The pieces didn't line up correctly and the wood split several times when the screws were drilled in. Once together it felt sturdy but due to the splitting by the screws I would be worried to move it too often

DYI kit requires additional effort but, overall a solid product.
I’m giving this 5 stars based on what I’ve experienced. First, after reading the prior feedback I purchased the kit knowing it’s basically a DYI project. The kit arrived intact (glass ) and all. Then I sealed all the wood and began assembly. Now, with at said. Are all the pieces square? (No) However after fully assembling I had very, very minor gaps. Nothing some Silicone couldn’t remedy. Assembly was easy, using basic tools. I have since purchased more kits to rehouse all my reptiles. Hopefully I will have the same results.

So glad I returned this
So, this thing is like $10 worth of particle board and a glass front that costs maybe $20 at most and it cost $160. Which would be okay if it was really well designed.I put it together and it was sturdy once assembled. Assembly was easy of you are mechanically inclined. I started test fitting lights and rocks and it was really difficult to work in with the small opening you have when sliding the glass. The light would have ended up hanging like 4 inches above the floor, or I would have had to cut a hole in the roof. I was worried about all the heat being near wood either way.I ended up getting a 40 gallon glass terrarium with double opening front doors and a metal screen roof for $130 (normally 230, so look for online price matching against their own website) at a big box pet store and it has been great. Easy to open for petting, feeding and cleaning and nothing flammable to make me worry about fire.Sidebar. The $130 terrarium I got was actually a lot that came with two light housings, a uv bulb, a heat bulb, a mat, feeding bowls and a nice rock with a little cave. I already had most of the stuff, but now I have backups. So, I don't know, apparently some people love this thing, but not me.
