I got this hat for my wife. It's a basic cloth "bucket" hat, fine for shielding from the sun, with an optional chin strap. I would describe it as practical and functional, but not particularly "stylish" or "fashionable" as the product description would have you believe. It's black with parallel rows of white stitching, and it does seem like it can be folded and scrunched up in luggage and still keep its shape, so that's a plus. In conclusion, it's a good hat - just don't expect to make a head-turning fashion statement with it.

It's a beach, picnic, gardening, walking hat. It is not a garden party, dressy hat. I thought it was big at first too, until I used the ties in back to adjust it. I snapped on the chin strap for the sake of the review, but mostly I'll wear the hat without it, because the strap isn't especially attractive. However it is good to be able to put it on for a windy day. I really like that the brim is versatile and you can shape it to flatter your face. It gives good coverage for sun (UPF50+ sun protection) and also a light summer rain.It's a squashable hat for packing or sticking in your purse.
