Wish I had this 30 years ago!
I work out lot, and I am an excessive sweater who has had a history of heat exhaustion (I just don't deal with heat/humidity well), so when I return from a long bike ride, or playing soccer etc. I keep this in my mini insulated bay and place it on my head to rapidly cool down my head, to amazing results. I now don't sweat as much after completing my work-out, and I can tell I do recover faster/better. I do combine this head gel pack with other gel backs on other parts of my body, and what a difference overall. I would imagine it is quite similar to seeing athletes get into a tub of cold ice water after work outs to facilitate recovery. These gel packs, however, offer immediate relief and with the head producing more heat that other parts of the body, this head gel gear has been a true difference maker for me. My only regret I didn't have this long ago, might have been able to avoid some of the issues I have had with heat exhaustion. I should add I get many wear looks/laughs when I wear it out in public (for example after playing soccer, I wear the head gel gear right away. By doing this and showing the results to others, I have convinced others the wisdom of rapid cool down when exercising in hot/humid weather.

Cool cap
The gel cold lasts about an hour. Just enough time to sooth my migrainenbefore the drugs kick in. I use a regular ice pack if I need additional time. This is the only cap I have found that has pocket for the gel on top of the head which is my major headache point. I turn the cap around so tge small gel rests on the base of my skull. Another pain point. I do not typically have forehead pain. I have a small head so I am at the end of my velcro adjust. And, as other users have noted, the gel packs easily slide out. Put if I pull them picket over the ends it mostly stays in. Will sew in some additional velcro for the pickets and a tighter head adjustment when I can buy some. A suggestion for future caps. But good value for money, does it's job and allows me to move about with it on where my ice pack requires me to lie down with pillows holding it in place until it melts enough to contour to my head. I have not yet placed the whole cap in the freezer as I didn't want a wet scalp when it thawed, but I might experiment with that on a "home" day.

Comfortable, easy to use, Non constricting
I am very happy with my purchase. the hat itself is light weight and stretchy, making it easy to wear during my worst migraine/inflammation days. th eice packs freeze failry quickly so i can use multiple times a day. The fact that I can use this hands free allows me to get through work or other activities with less stress. The tempurature is just cold enough to feel relief without causing any additional discomfort. The company reccomends 15-20 minutes of use at a time. Mainly this is because the icepacks will get warm/thaw and will need to be refrozen. My only complaint, and this is minor, is they do not promote/sell additional packs for the hat. But other then that I am very happy with the relief it has already brought me. I bought additional hats for my friends and family members who suffer from similar ailments.

Highly recommended
Highly recommended for migraines. You can adjust where you put the ice packs so the ice is only where the pain is. This also allows you to keep the extra ice packs cold so you can easily switch them out as they warm up. The hat is made out of a very soft, comfortable material. The best part is, that you can adjust how tight it is. When I have a migraine, sometimes just the weight of my head on a pillow is too painful. This hat is perfect because it allows me to sit upright yet still have ice on the painful area without feeling like a tight band around my head.

I really wanted to love this...
This thing kind of works, it’s a good concept... it’s too big for my head but I can fix that with a needle and thread. The big problem is that it doesn’t cover the whole top on my head with ice... and the ice packs they give you can’t even be felt through the fabric, not to mention they are warm to the touch after about 5 minutes. After sewing it tighter... and putting my own ice packs it it works great. But just right out of the box it was not helpful at all.

Fantastic Investment!
I have tried this 3 times now and 2 out of the 3 times it reduced the time of my migraines! It’s a little awkward with all the small ice packs in it. I think I would prefer something that had the ice packs in it and didn’t come out. But the fact that they come out means you can wash the cap itself. So there are pros and cons to that I suppose. Over all I think this was a fantastic investment! I generally have migraines last at least 12 hours. This cuts it down to 2-3 hours!!

Like the idea but not effective
I loved this idea and still do but years after trying to use it, it is just not effective. The ice packs that go in the hat are tiny and defrost within minutes. The position of the ice packs in the hat aren't ideal for my migraines and fall out easily. For the money at the time it seemed worth it but now I didn't think so.

It helps for mild headaches
This hat is comfortable to wear and provides adequate cooling for headaches that are not major migraines or are in the beginning stages of a headache. For a really bad migraine I think will need something that is colder. But this has worked so far. The only drawbacks are:1. Minor issue - I do not like the way the pockets are designed that hold the ice packs. The packs can tend to slip around easily as you are putting it on your head so to keep them in place I kind of have to hold the hat by the ice pack and slip it on carefully.2. More important - I have to wear the hat sideways (which isn’t hard) so that one of the bigger ice packs are on my forehead because the little one designed for the front does not do the job at all. I took it out and don’t even use it. But then using it sideways, the pack for the top of my head isn’t centered. But all in all, it helps and I can wear it while I lay back and watch tv to pass the time. It is comfortable and not heavy and certainly beats having to hold a heavy ice pack on your head.
