So Far So Good!
So far so good! Have had this for a few weeks now. Had another person put it together, and he says that putting it together was easy enough, but that the directions were inadequate. Purchased it for a senior who has active dreams -- wanted something to keep her in bed instead of her waking up on the floor. So far so good! She reports that she now sleeps secure in the knowledge that this will keep her from falling. We have tried numerous movement scenarios to check the sturdiness, and all seems perfect. Haven't yet had an actual save... that we know of...I read all of the reviews and was careful with the fabric and zipper. All seems just fine. I like the mesh material for ease of air circulation. She likes the hide-away option, although she mostly just keeps it up and in place.Very pleased with the quality of this item: the security it provides, the ease of operation, the pleasing appearance, the hide-away option, and of course, the low price!

Good Product
We've been using the bed rail for about a month now. It's generally a good product. We are using it for some additional security on a top-bunk for a 6 year old.It was fairly easy to assemble, although it had more pieces than I thought it should. I think it took me about 10 minutes. As usual, the instructions are not as clear as they should be and it has some type of fastener system with flat plastic cords, which I'm guessing is for the hideaway feature that we don't use. The metal frame sits securely under the mattress, so I'm not sure you need the extra fastener, but we did put it on!Overall it's a solid product and does the job well.

Works well as a transitional tool
We ended up using this mostly for vacations as an alternative to the pack and play cause our little one doesnt like sleeping by himself in strange places. When packed in its box it's fairly compact, though does weigh quite a bit because of the metal construction, but that's necessary to lend it the strength required to give you confidence in using it.It took me about 20 minutes to set it up the first time, including assembling the sides. The instructions are vague but I was able to figure it out using them. The hardest part was inserting the frames into the fabric covers.None of the pieces feel particularly high quality but conversely they also don't feel fragile. The box it arrived in had clearly been thrown around a lot but there was no damage to the product itself. We used it on a queen sized bed, but I can see it fitting a regular king as well. The rails themselves only came about four inches or so over the mattress, and it was a regular mattress not a pillow top so keep that in mind. But they did keep him from rolling off the bed. They also don't fully cover the side of an adult bed either, leaving about two feet at the bottom and maybe a foot at the top open. The rails also angle towards the bed about 10-15 degrees so it's not strait up.We were able to use the straps to secure the rails tightly, that was not an issue. We didn't end up using the fold away feature, but I could see how it would work. The only downside is this creates a one inch gap between the mattress and the box spring or frame (not sure if it works without a box spring) so over time this might cause a mattress to deform.Overall we were pleased with the product. It would likely be best on a toddler sized bed for transition from a crib, or as we used it, on vacation if you can bring it along.

Great Bed Rail
This rail has worked perfectly for our preschooler. His bed is relatively high, but we have not been concerned. He is not able to release the rail on his own, yet I am able to easily collapse and stow it under his mattress when I make his bed allowing him to use the bed as seating and play space during the day. Also allows us to use his bed as a guest bed if needed without having to completely remove the rail. The rail was easy to install with adjustable straps & brackets that hug the bottom of your mattress. Once on firmly, it has stayed in place, even when changing the bedding. The rail itself has two release pens that can slip when not locked in place but are easily pulled to allow the rail to be stowed. Rail stowing is easy when tracks are squarely in place. Do not expect your child to be able to release rail and hide it away. That's a job for Mom or Dad.All around great purchase. Would definitely buy another if ever had the need.
