Fun times. Good design. Very giftable
The product is sturdy. Takes a lot of pressure to make these puzzles and I didn’t break one piece. Had a hard time with the rubber bands. But the best part of the project is following the directions as they are well detailed, and having a successful build.

Super great. Would buy again!
Worth every penny. Easy to follow directions, No glue required. My only complaint is there was more splintering when I pulled the pieces off than I would have liked, it wasn't enough to damage said pieces tho. And the finished product is gorgeous. My advice to future buyers: dont skimp on the wax for the moving parts(gears and whatnot) more is better, & it makes a world of a difference.

good kit, esp for a first try[few pieces] typos in instructions, paintable, nice music box mechanism,
I gave this to my adult daughter [she has put many together, but this time she wanted to paint the tiny pieces before assembling. she had recently used water colors on a different solid wood project, with great results. I'd thought using water colors on something like this where pieces fit together so tightly without glue would not work, since I thought moisture from the paint would soak into grain of wood& swell the pieces where they could no longer fit together. this box is a jewelry music box, so she painted each little piece using jewel-toned water colors before putting together-the result is a colorful matt finish/really makes the intricate elements of the cut out areas pop. Simple but cute! it's a wind -up mechanism for music, which gives music box sound,& is triggered by opening top.Must line up right when assembling! In regards to this kit compared to other similar kinds, she says” there were typos in the instructionswhich caused some confusion but got i t worked out. [askme if you’d like thedetails]Also, in regards to assemblage by children” You need to pay attention to the details – i.e.if you put the piece that covers the top of the music box section in rotated 180 degrees, then later the box won't shut (because the holes for it to shut into are in the wrong spot). It's really hard to undo mistakes on these because the pieces are so tight, trying to pry them apart often results in breakage. This one had much less pieces than other kits I’ve done, so that might be a bonus for a kid with this one. the right kid could do this if they paid attention to details, were patient, and gentle because it is easy to break parts on these when trying to get them together. You have to press things together firmly but not too firmly. I don't think I've done a single kit where I didn't break a piece. but this kit has fewer pieces so good one for a first try& kids. I have glued pieces back together after breaking, but never fits very good.so do need to try to get right the first time to avoid frustration. Will gladly answer questions in detail if requested!LauraLei

Awesome and fun to build
The media could not be loaded. This was very fun to build but not so easy. You have to be very careful putting it together. I broke a 2 pieces while build it but some superglue helped. Needed some extra wax and more sandpaper to finish the product.

BEAUTIFUL!!
I have assembled several 3D puzzles over the last few months. Kind of addicted to them. This is by far...my FAVORITE. I followed the directions to a T. I made sure I tested moving parts before moving on to the next section. If I wasn't sure, I would go back, retrace my steps and then move forward. It was worth it. It took me several evenings to complete the box. The compartments are small and It won't open smoothly with one hand. I have to open and close the sides in order to make it work properly....but I'm fine with that. Wax, wax, wax...that's all I have to say about that. I was going to give this to my daughter...but I'm keeping this one! She'll have to get another 3D puzzle from me. I LOVE IT.

Looks Beautiful
This wooden box has the same concept of another I just put together recently. Both are made by different companies I’m assuming. The instructions were easy enough to follow, the wax was a mini candle (however odd, it was easier to wax the various parts). Getting the pieces out of the wood sheets was a bit more tricky and even after cutting the connections, they still gave me trouble. I like that they gave you precut wooden tools to help with some things. There is no way my 13yro would have been able to put this together without having a lot of broken pieces. Even I had some chipped pieces off of some of the smaller parts because they were fastened to the frame work really well. Would still recommend, it is a beautiful functioning box.

Great idea weak design
Bought this for my 10 y/o daughter. Her and I were working to build it together. In my life, I've built quiet many sailing vessels and airplanes using similar technique. Some were hard, some were relatively easy to build. This one isn't that hard to build, but the material is very cheap and fragile. Pieces break quiet easily. I had to glue pieces several times no matter how gently I was with the parts.

Vackert men billigt, något sprött pressat trä.

Really nice box and good quality
Really nice box! A bit smaller than I tought but was really fun to build and really good quality. I have used my woodworking soft beeswax instead of the candle wax they provide... I did not like it since it is hard to get all pieces waxed and doing more crumble than I like. Once well waxed it is awesome and opens like a charm. Somewhat hard to remove pieces from board , then used exacto to carefully remove pieces from board.

Gorgeous and useful and also fun to build
First of all a small caveat - in one of the very early stages, attaching two identical small gears to part 5, it was such a tight fit to get the two gears on that spindle, it broke. So make sure you lightly sand down part 5 especially, on all four sides. I did apply for replacement parts 5 and the two gears, however as Ukraine is now in an awful position I just bought a second box. After very lightly sanding part 5, the gears fitted perfectly, lined up centrally on the axel (part 5).It is a good idea to lightly sand most gear pieces at least. The rest of the pieces fitted perfectly, with a satisfying squeak as pushed together. It is actually quite an easy build compared to some of the other laser cut kits. Don't use a hammer to fit the pieces together like another unsatisfied reviewer! Use a hard surface to very carefully and squarely pushes pieces together if required. Also, use wax on the gears and moving parts as suggested. The only awkward part is dropping the doubly holed, figure 8 pieces onto a fixed spur as you push the top layer boxes (the ones which swivel out as the lid is raised).Once completed be gentle with box. Also, it does take a while for all the gears to loosen and work together smoothly. So spend a short while opening and closing the box until it all loosens. Finally, yes, it is a delicate box. Be careful not to force it, so as you lift the lid, at least when you've just finished it, help ease out the lower trays and the top swivel boxes as you raise the lid. Don't force the lid right up to vertical - it's about 50 - 60 degrees when fully open and the trays are out. Also, when closing the box, be just as gentle, helping push the tray and swiveled boxes back in as you lower the lid again. The catch works perfectly. With that care, the box should last years just like any other box. The only things which will perish are the rubber bands, but they shouldn't actually be too difficult to replace when necessary. The only thing then is to find a use for it! I may use it to put all my spare ship modelling parts in it, deadeyes, rigging blocks, rigging thread etc.I can highly recommend it. It's not the hardest build of laser cut kits and it's also very useful - for whatever you decided to use it for.
