Follistatin is a glycoprotein which was first identified as a follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) inhibiting substance in ovarian follicular fluid. Follistatin is a secreted protein that bind to ligands of the TGF-beta family and regulates there activity by inhibiting there access to signalling receptors. The TGF beta family comprises of BMP-2, -4, -6, -7, myostatin, GDF-11, and TGF-beta 1. Follistatin is expressed in the pituitary, ovaries and decidual cells of the endometrium and in some other tissues. This product is NOT for human consumption and can be harmful if ingested.
