Really good paper if you use it correctly
This was my first time using this paper and for the first hour or so I thought the paper really, really fought me. I was wrong. Turned out, it was I who was fighting the paper because I was using it incorrectly. Once I started using it correctly, I was really pleased with how it worked. This is really nice, thick paper with a canvas-like texture (but more subtle than a real canvas). I was using it in class to do a value study in black, white and shades of gray. I was using professional artists' quality acrylic paint (Golden Heavy Body) and professional, high quality brushes (Da Vinci). My paints were moist because I was using the Masterson Sta-wet palette. In the beginning, I used wet brushes and a substantial amount of water to to do a very translucent light gray wash, akin to a light watercolor wash. The paper was absorbing the water and drying quickly. It did not pill or fray, but after a while, the paper started curling along the edges and forming some gentle hill and valley buckling shapes in the middle. I then stopped using water and just started using moist but not drippy brushes, and wet acrylic paint at full opacity over the areas where I had done the wash. The buckling stopped and reversed itself, and the edge curling reduced but still remained. You can see the transparent wash underpainting and the curling edges in Image 1. For the next 3 hours, I continued to paint with progressive layers of acrylic paint and the paper worked beautifully, the paint went on smoothly and built up nicely. The value study still needs more work, but if you look at image 2, you will see the edge curling has reduced significantly, and there's no buckling in the middle. All in all, this one sheet was worked on for 4 hours with successive layers of wet paint and it held up very well. So, I would say, if you use this paper for opaque acrylic paintings, or impasto style, it is great.Next week, I am going to try the paper with Golden Matte Medium which lets you achieve translucent effects (instead of using lots of water), and I will also try a version where I coat the paper with a single layer of gesso begore painting. I will update my review with my results, but even without those experiments, this paper gets a thumbs up from me for color studies, plein air, painting practice and even for sale/display work that is easier to transport, sell and hang than heavier canvases. All-in-all, if you are doing single day paintings with acrylics where you want things to dry quickly so you can layer paint, this paper is great.

Not what expected
This paper is so very thick, it's like cardboard. It may be fine for your needs, but was too thick for me. I almost returned it, but decided to keep it anyway, since Ups seems to be charging $8 for pickups to return now, so I'd get only a $1 refund. There's only ten sheets, also, so I could've chosen one with a lot more sheets. I really needed more of a multimedia pad, or a sketch pad, for gel pen painting.I got this pad because I'd bought acrylic markers, thinking they'd look like acrylic paints and bleed through on thinner paper, but they didn't, and they looked like awful washed out colors, ok as markers but not attractive as art, and I didn't return them, either, because after paying for shipping, I'd only get a 65¢ refund!I can use the markers to mark boxes when I move.Guess it was one of those days. 😒

Meh
Might be better for actual oil paints. Says it can be used for oil pastels but just looks like any other canvas paper.

Great value
My husband uses these when he wants to paint but doesn’t want to get out a big canvas. He loves these, they are nice and thick, paint doesn’t leak through( he uses oil) we have bought a few books that have advertised for oil painting and the paint soaks right through. Very happy with these, I will definitely purchase again.

A bit toothy with a cross hatch texture but good.
Just trying it out on oil pastels so far. It is a bit toothy and rough, but not impossible to work with. Tortillons will be your friend if you want a smooth blended effect. That said, the paper has a sturdy somewhat slick feel to it. It doesn't feel like it will heavily absorb paint, which is good, because less is needed for coverage. For oil pastels it may take a bit more to fill in the grooves. The picture shows blended and unleaded areas.

Not for beginners
A beginner my find the product a little hard to work with. Really need a secure easel and a way to firmly hold each canvas “sheet”. Product does perform well. If beginner, use panels first and perfect your approach, then these will be an easier experience.

Great. Just one thing...
I use this for water mixable oil painting. It works great. The only problem I have is that it tears easily after being taped to a surface, when trying to remove. You have to be careful. Even then some of the paper is removed.

Love this paper
This paper is so nice, it is thick and doesn't fall apart, it does warp a little bit but it is nice, I love this brand of paper and would definitely recommend trying it!

Veio todo descolado.
As folhas vieram todas soltas dentro da capa e a capa veio amassada.

Excelente calidad
Soporta perfecto el óleo, realmente no es necesario preparar el papel con nada y no es necesario pegarlo solo que para mí fue más práctico, lo volveré a comprar
