Exactly what you would expect from the bargain bin.
The game worked... mostly. Graphics are fine, but the save feature doesn't seem to work with newer PCs. So, if you have a day or two and want to play a reasonably mediocre game, this one is for you.Tutorial is fair at best, so you're left to discover most of the game play on your own.I shouldn't be so critical, because the purchase was less than $10 delivered. I guess you get what you pay for. It's a shame - the concept is a good one, but it's just so dated, I think technology passed it up. I would have recommended it in it's prime; but now, I would council you against it.

don't bother
I was excited about this game b/c I'm also very interested in wine. Unfortunately, it's very very *thin*: gameplay is extremely limited and unsophisticated. For instance, all you do when deciding to grow grapes is to choose a field (they're all the same, so forget about terroir) and plant the grape. If the field is infested with weeds or pests, you click a button to fix. Then during the processing, you actually don't intervene at all--no control of maceration, for example, skins on/off, or any other detail that actually matters in the production of juice or fermentation. It's all automatic, except for hiring employees and machines that do everything (you don't control any settings on the machines).Once the wine is produced, there's no competition in-game for its quality; one Chardonnay in one year is as good as any other Chardonnay (from anywhere!) in any other year. Someone makes an offer for your wine and you sell it and that's it.Other gripes: the Career Mode is buggy, and breaks in the third mission (therefore I've only played the game for a total of 2 hours). The music is pathetic--a file of less than a minute on continuous repeat. Tutorial restarts every time you play, no matter what, and then with every new mission in Career Mode. Manual is about 4pp long (though this reflects the fact that there's so little to do).In short: don't waste your money. Spend it on one of the other Tycoon games that's actually fun--you can download Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon 2, a far more sophisticated and replayable game, for about $7 online these days.

Boring and Repetitive
Becomes tedious and boring. You go from field to field to fertilize and pest control. Too many bugs (in the program, not the fields).

To be fair...
The premise of the game is great, the running of your own winery step by step. However the gameplay gets so bogged down in the finer details till it becomes rather frustrating and/or boring to figure out and keep track of everything. The user interface would benefit from being streamlined and navigating the game more user friendly. Otherwise, not too bad for the price, if I’d paid 20$ for this I’d want a refund.

Nope
Wife hated it. Was not easy to play. Game good of been fun and a cool way to learn about wine but they didn’t want that I guess.

Not fun
Seriously not fun. Hard to understand, even after reading tutorial & watching online review on youtube. Should have listened to the others. Definately not worth the price. I enjoyed Winemaker Extraordinaire, but this is just too complicated.

Wine tycoon
Bought it as a present for someone. They seemed to like it. Book is as advertised. Great for someone who wants to learn about wines.
