Furniture Fresh - Waterproof Microfiber Furniture Protector with Elastic Back Strap (Loveseat, Chocolate)

This furniture cover literally saved our sofa and our sanity, alike. We highly recommend it and actually cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who is need of furniture protection from pet “mishaps” (okay, let’s just be honest cat urine galore). I apologize that it took me a few weeks to write this review for those of you in need of a product that will far exceed your expectations and like us, save your sanity but hopefully you will read this now and it will help you. All I can say is if you need something to protect your furniture from pet urine mishaps then order this product TODAY because it works. Now that is the most important thing you need to know BUT if you care to read a little further, I will give you some background on our need and use of this product. We have four inside only cats (3 sibling cat’s, age16 and 1 cat, age 8) who we introduced as gently and respectfully as possible to a new kitten I had found abandoned in my office parking lot last November. In the beginning it did NOT go well at all. As poor luck would have it, at the very same time of the introductions, our 16 year old cats started having bladder, urinary tract (UT) and kidney infections which are common at this age (I am just so very thankful they were caught in time and treatable). Now, we could not discover which cat was doing the deed OR if the cause of their suddenly using our beautiful (and very comfortable) living room sofa as a litter box was due to their feeling threatened at their territory being invaded by the kitten OR if it had to do with their trying to tell us they were having health issues with their UT system but regardless the reason one of them (fortunately, we think only one) was urinating on our sofa; twice before we were able to get this cover and another "fortunately" for us it was Prime shipping so it got here in two days. It took just one day of placing this cover on our sofa before we woke the next morning to find a huge and I mean huge wet spot, there was so much urine it had actually puddled. We were able to dry the puddle up with paper towels then spray the cover down with “Angry Orange” which is the best product we have found to rid you of bad smells and destroy the causes (ammonia/bacteria) of the bad smells. We remove the cover when we plan to be in the living room on the sofa but cover it back up if we are at work, outside or gone to bed for the evening. I am really embarrassed to say that our cats are continuing to have these mishaps and this cover is still protecting our sofa. Another very important note I want to add, I was very concerned if washing this product would lessen it’s protective ability. I have washed and dried it weekly since we bought it and it still protects the exact same. If it were not for this product we would have had to throw our sofa away and just sat on the floor but thanks to this product our sofa is protected and the mess we have to contend too (still) from to time is not nearly as bad as it could be if we did not have it. It is well worth the price as the peace of mind it brings is priceless.

OK, but not waterproof. Being advertised as waterproof was my only reason for purchasing this, as I don't find it particularly attractive. I have a family member that is sometimes incontinent, and bought this to protect the couch for that reason. It failed to do so. It absorbed some, but left me with a couch that had to be cleaned. It comes out of the laundry kind of 'nappy' - not sure how to describe it. We have a hard time keeping it on the couch. I guess this might offer some protection for some people under certain circumstances, but for urine, 'some protection' is not enough - we needed the waterproof feature that it advertises. Because of the advertising, we put our new couch at risk, thinking it was protected. So, it's not just the money on this item that we're out. I'm upset that I ended up having to clean a new couch, and I'm upset that if we couldn't have gotten it clean that we could have lost it. This was an expensive mistake. I would not recommend this to a friend, because it does not do what it is supposed to do. If they needed light protection - like dog claws, cat hair, etc. I would suggest that they look elsewhere - simply because when you take the waterproof feature out of the decision, there are nicer looking and better feeling (against your skin) choices out there.

My cat peed on this cover and I can attest that it’s waterproof. After the cat peed I hand washed the area and placed the cover back on the couch. The couch is still dry.I recommend hand washing only on the spot as to not break the waterproof layer.This was definitely a good purchase. I wish I had come across it earlier. Got this to protect my couch from a new rescue puppy who's potty training isn't going so great. I have a couch with chase so I use it only on the couch part and do not use the straps to hold it in place. It stays fairly well with some adjusting if someone sits on that end of the couch. My little pup has pee'd on it twice now and its liquid tight no leaking through like other reviews discussed. Washing I do on delicate/cold cycle and I do actually dry it in the drier some on low. It will take A LONG time to dry as the waterproof backing makes it hold water but this was expected and not a surprise to me. All in all its a great cover for the price and am very happy with the purchase!

So very irritated. The third word in the name of this product is WATERPROOF, but I'm thinking the company is unaware of what that word actually means. If they did, I would only have a stinky couch cover and not a cat-urine soaked couch, as well. This will protect your couch from crumbs, but it is absolutely not waterproof.

This was totally my fault on not liking this. I ordered the XL Sofa size thinking that too big would be better than too small. Well, even the XL size doesn't cover a normal 3-seat couch. I should have measured and that is on me. But I'm putting this 3 star because I believe their wording is misleading. They have a love seat size - which I took to be the standard 2-seat couch, and a sofa size - which I assumed to be the normal 3-seat couch. I gave it to a friend who has a smaller love seat and it fits fine. As far as the waterproof part, I never got to experience it, so I'm not sure. The material was nice and I felt that it would have worked quite well had it fit.

So happy to have found an XL couch cover. Could be a few inches longer, but fits the length of my couch okay...not nearly as nice as the one pictured. My six month old beagle broke it in yesterday when she got excited to see me and tinkled on it. The urine beaded up and was repelled by the cover. I immediately removed it for laundering, and found it had not seeped through. It does slide around on my fabric couch, even with the strap in place, unlike the similar one I purchased in a department store for my love seat. However, that one does not repel liquid as well as this one.
