Knowledge of Sarf: Basic lessons from Arabic Morphology

You will need a teacher with this book, to explain. Please do not try on your own.
This is a good book! There is little explanation so, you can't study it alone . A teacher is needed If you don't have above basic Arabic grammar.

It’s an ok book
This book presupposes that you already have a basic knowledge of Quranic Arabic morphology. I don’t so I’m finding the book difficult to understand. If you already have a basic knowledge of Sarf (Quranic morphology) this book is fine.

A great book for introduction to Arabic Morphology!
Brother Bilal has done an exceptional job compiling this book for students in their preliminary stages of learning Arabic. Easy to understand and read.

Easy to understand
Subhan Allah, beautiful book. Has simplified to such a simple book. There's no way that someone won't be able to understand this. Sarf has been made so easy!

More suited for a classroom setting than self-study
I appreciate that words are frequently written both transliterated and in Arabic. It is also concise and so it is easy to get through. That said, there are some issues. Firstly the book is too wide to fit comfortably on a shelf. Tables in the book are presented without clear instruction on how to navigate them. It would also benefit from a wide range of examples at each stage showing how and why certain transformations are performed on a given word. The above 'issues' give me the impression that this book was intended to be used with a teacher, as a teacher would be able to instruct on this matter. As a result I would recommend against using this book for self-study if there is a more comprehensive and instructional guide available (not that I know of one mind you).
