It's a great color of deep brown with possible red undertones. I love it.
The process was easy to follow and I ended up with a great color. I've been trying to go back to my original color of light medium brown and my stylist said that I need to start with a shade darker than my original. It took me time to get used to this new dark color but I ended up loving it I am back to the color, or close to it, that I had when I was in my 40 s and I am now getting used to a darker brow color which all looks better with my brown eyes. I'm 63 and I actually love the look. I want to grow my hair out and start using my curling iron again and have it cut into some sort of bob. I feel really good about it. The one thing I learned is that you can be very messy on your sink in your hands and your forehead and the countertop and the t-shirt you are wearing. I would try using something like Vaseline on my face to keep the color from staining my skin. You may end up with a reddish tint with it which I actually liked. I will use this again.

4RV Burgundy Hair Color. New shade.
I love, love, love this color!! This color is almost identical to what I would get at the salon! I wasn't sure if one box would cover my hair length, so I got two boxes. My natural hair color is close to the dark brown on the back of this box. I haven't gone to the salon in about a year, so I had a lot of gray hair!! The color covered my gray hair, but acted more like a highlight for them. I did the allergy test as recommended, and did not have a reaction. I might update later to see how long the color lasted. I dyed it January 9th, 2024.

Was not the correct hair color for me. First time I’ve used this brand.
As I stated, this is the first time I’ve used this brand of hair color. I’ve only dyed my hair three times and it’s usually the hair coloring that washes out in like 15 washes. So I’m not sure if I didn’t leave it on long enough or not. I don’t have really any gray hair to cover at 53 yrs old. (Thank you to my mom for having a fabulous genes) I was looking for more of a auburn color, but then again, maybe I did not leave it on long enough since this is really my first time dying my hair, and I have long thick hair, so maybe I should’ve bought two boxes. I was getting ready to go on vacation and I just wanted something different and I knew the Revlon name because I purchased other items from that company. So when I’m ready to dye my hair again, I’ll give it another go around with Revlon and try to pick the correct auburn color in more than likely buy two boxes.

Great natural color
I have been using this for years now, It is a very natural color. Not just my opinion, but the friends who know that I color my hair are amazed that it looks so natural. It makes my hair look fuller, as well as, shiny.

Pleasantly surprised
I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this color went on. I had faded dark brown, red, and varying shades of blonde and this dye evened everything out perfectly! It definitely doesn't smell great, at least not in my opinion. This was my first time doing a permanent instead of a semi-permanent color, but it turned out great! And it's holding up a lot better too. I gave up on taking cold showers to preserve my red color a few years ago, so having a formula that can now withstand the heat is amazing!A little disclaimer: I never use the bottle these box dyes come with. I always use a professional style bowl and brush - makes it a whole lot easier to apply only to the roots before the rest of the hair.

Resisted, but now I'm a believer
When Nice'N'Easy changed their formula, I resisted. I've used their products for a couple decades, so I bought up a bunch of the older formulas. Finally I ran out and had to buy the new formula: soooo awesome!1. It doesn't smell nearly as horribly as the old formula.2. The gloves are better.3. The mixing is easier because one of the reactants is more of a cream. (It's in a metal tube that you can fold up like toothpaste when squeezing into the activator so that you get all of it.)4. The conditioner is better.5. The solutions spreads more easily on my head, so it's less messy, and I can use one box instead of one-and-a-half each coloring.6. The color it makes is even better than the old color.I'm stopping there, but there could be more good things. It's such an amazing surprise, when you resist change to find that all the changes are genuinely for the better.

Product changes are horrible
I contacted Clairol about the product changes they made. I have used Nice n Easy hair color for over 40 years. I have always used the same color - Medium Golden Brown color 117. So some genius there decided to mess with a great product and change it. They no longer make the original liquid formula. They changed to some awful cream stuff that doesn't even provide enough to cover my hair which doesn't even come down to my shoulders. The number now is 5G. So I tried it yesterday and not only does it not cover all of my hair, but the crap has stained my skin. The original product easily washed off my face, neck, shoulders, etc. This stuff has made my forehead, around my ears, my cheeks, neck, and shoulders splotchy stained brown that will not come off no matter what I use. In addition, it made my skin itchy in some areas. Apparently, Clairol doesn't care. They said they will not go back to original formula and they will reimburse what I paid, and I should go to a doctor. I don't understand why companies continually have to change good products. I guess it is just so that department keeps their jobs. I am very unhappy about this.
