[UPDATE] - DO NOT PURCHASE - beware of the adhesive.
Just got this in today and initial response is just OK with a 3 star rating. I will update as I use it more.Noticed firstly that the packaging that it arrived in is different from what is shown in the pictures. First sign that the pictures are not accurate. Not really a huge deal but the second issue was more of a problem for me. The hook/car bracket that came with this is white and not black as the picture shows. This is a problem for me as I need the hook to match the color of the surface I am putting it on, otherwise it stands out like a sore thumb. Third, the ring itself is shiny and not a matte/satin finish as shown in the pictures.Update 1: Minus 1 star. I applied the ring to my phone as instructed. I tried to remove the ring to adjust it as I got more comfortable with using the ring and realized that it would be better higher up. Unfortunately the adhesive is STUCK on there and won't come off no matter how much I pulled, pried, etc. I took a wide, flat tool to try and get an edge up to start peeling it off but the adhesive started ripping instead of coming off the phone. Good news is that there is no chance that the ring comes un-done on it's own. Bad news is that it's on there for good. I used enough force where it started pulling the casing off the outside of my phone before it would let go. BUYER BEWARE - once it's on there, it's on there... Again, listing is inaccurate saying that it can be reused. Disappointing and another star off the rating.Update 2: Minus 1 more star. I went to try and install the hook/car bracket. Turns out the adhesive is not sticky at all. I followed instructions, cleaned the surface area of where I wanted to install the hook (I even used rubbing alcohol to remove any oils, etc), peeled away the plastic covering the adhesive and tried to apply the hook. It held on for a little bit but slowly it just fell right off. I was confused so I looked at the back of the adhesive and gently touched it with a clean finger (also washed and cleaned with rubbing alcohol) and to my surprise it was not sticky at all! On closer inspection it looks like a "micro-suction" type of re-usable adhesive. Looks like there was some mistake and the types of adhesive used were swapped between the ring mount and the hook mount. The "micro-suction" adhesive should have been on the back of the ring mount, and the "permanent" adhesive should have been on the back of the hook mount. This totally makes this un-usable for me as the hook will not stay mounted and now I can not remove the ring from my phone. I have to carefully remove the ring mount without damaging my phone and use adhesive remover (Goo Gone or similar) to remove the residue. VERY DISAPPOINTED. It's already in the trash in less than 48 hours.Conclusion: While the ring concept itself is awesome and it is certainly useful, this product in itself is useless as it is just not made properly. DO NOT GET THIS unless you are just using the ring mount and know where you want to mount it permanently on first usage.Update 3: The merchant that this was purchased from was Pikaju Dj and was fulfilled by Amazon. Kudos to Pikaju Dj for reaching out to me after this review went up. Pikaju Dj mentioned that it was a minor issue and they would send me out a proper unit to use and to update my review. It has been 3 weeks and I have yet to receive another unit nor heard from Pikaju Dj. Will update review again if anything changes.
